A Day in the Life

I enjoyed my walk today at the park. It was a sweltering day but the trail through the woods is shady with a slight breeze. I can easily keep my distances so I didn’t wear a mask. Lots of birds were out. I saw several cardinals and a few hawks. I hope the hawks weren’t after the-smaller birds. Leo found a bench under a big shade tree not far from where he parked the car. A few youngsters were playing ball , others were throwing a frisbee. I noticed most of them wore masks. As I crossed the creek kids and dogs were splashing in the water. By the time I finished my walk I was totally wet in sweat. I had intended to stop at Aldi on the way back from the park but we came straight home and I jumped in a cool shower. We had a good rain this evening so the grounds should be freshened up. I’ve been lazy all evening but tomorrow is another day.

That’s better than I do. I walk two miles about three or four times a week.

Sounds like you had a nice walk even if you were sweaty when you got home. It's nice that you have such a lovely park to be able to walk through.

It is and I like walking in the woods where there's shade. It would have been hot under the sun.

I like to go walking on the nature trails in a local city park just down the street from where I live. It's a nice way to start my mornings, although like you, I am always drenched in sweat by the time I return home. But I guess that's just the nature of the beast at this time of year. When cooler weather eventually arrives in late fall and winter, I'm sure those walks will be very enjoyable.

@RubyHawk I'm the opposite. I'd rather have the cold air to complain about! lol But despite the heat, I still enjoy my walks right now, I'm just drenched in sweat by the time I finish.

@moffittjc I gave up my walk today. We had to look for ink for the printer, which we didn’t find, and I was ready to go home when we gave up and stopped looking. Why do you think stores are out of ink cartridges. I’ve always found ink on the shelves before today.

I enjoy my walks too in spite of the heat but they will Be more comfortable in a couple of months. Then the cold winds will be something to complain about. Actually I’d rather have the heat.

It was a really walkable path where you could put the sweltering hot weather and the Covid-19 behind you.

I envy that you can walk in that park. It's been a long time since we had gone to one. And now it is not possible.

Glad you're able to go for a walk. Our province is in a lockdown again so mobility is restricted. I miss walking on the street every morning and getting some sunshine.
