Steve Crews is one person who has a heart of compassion when it comes to rescuing a small kitten that was struggling to stay afloat just outside of a pass in the Gulf Of Mexico near Orange Beach Alabama.
Steve and members of his team managed to take the kitten out of the water and into his boat until they returned to shore and then to his home.
Since the kitten is grateful that Steve saved him from drowning in the Gulf Of Mexico, he and his wife decided to adopt the kitten.
The name of the kitten is not known yet at this time.
Steve believes that a wave brought the kitten from the beach to the ocean when he was located by Steve and his team aboard his charter boat.

What I would like to know is what that kitten was doing in the Gulf of Mexico in the first place. I am glad it was saved,

The belief is that a wave dragged the kitten out to sea. How did the kitten get to the beach is anyone's guess.

I do not think that the kitten will be named SpongeBob. Likely Lucky.

I agree with you since the crew thought the kitten was a fish.

@Deepizzaguy Look at its paws, he is a polydactyl cat, like those in the Hemingway house in Key West.

@LadyDuck Thank for your input about the kitten who looks like my cat Bond but without the white coat.
