Stuck In The Middle

It's so nice out this morning. The humidity is low and it's cool for a change. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first cup of coffee on the balcony. It's relaxing to sit out there and forget about your troubles for a while.
My brother and I have had a bad couple of days. For almost a year now, we have been in the middle of a family situation. Both parties have told their side of the story and though we didn't voice any opinions, we kept hearing from one of the parties involved. It all came to a head Monday night. We had to decide the best thing to do and believe me, I don't ever want to be in that position again. Now my brother and I are suffering even though we know we did the right thing. I don't think I have ever felt this way except when there was a death in the family. It has been that devastating.
Yesterday, we sort of walked around in shock. I am never going to let someone put me in the middle of something again. It has taken it's toll on my brother and I. My brother has a heart condition, so I have been extra worried about him. I hope and pray that today is a better day. It just has to be.
So, what do you have planned today? I hope everyone here has a great day.

No, it's not at all. We were put in a situation where someone wanted us to go against someone else because they had a problem with that person. It was getting out of control, so we backed away from the situation and won't have anything else to do with it.

First of all, let me tell you that I am super happy that you totally enjoyed your first coffee this morning on the balcony. That's a good start.
Second, I am very sad that you had to go through a "family situation", never pleasant.
Third, try to put this behind you and enjoy YOUR LIFE and the company of your brother.
Sorry he has a heart condition.

I'm sorry you were caught in the middle of a family situation. It's never good and I hope you both come out on the other side of this drama and are better for it. Find ways to relax and don't dwell on what happened, though I know it's hard not to. I've been in the middle. Tempers flared, words were said, but in the end, it was my life and values I needed to stick with. You can't change another person. You can only do what's best for you.
My prayers are with you in this time of crisis.

Yes, tempers did flare and it was awful. This family member will no longer speak to us, but we did what we felt was right. And we felt the same way you did, our lives and values are what we needed to stick with. What made it extra hard is the family member involved is bipolar. All we can do is pray for her.
Thank you so much Valerie for your prayers. They are very much needed

@amitkokiladitya When it comes to family, that is very true. We pulled away from the situation and feel much better.

@simone10 there isn't anything good in being mediator. In the end, he is usually the one who is blamed.

Thank you, Scott! That really means a lot to me. It's been almost one of the worst things we have gone through. But, we decided to pull away from everything and all the drama. I would never try and put someone into something like this. I won't let anyone put us in that situation again.

I'm sorry to hear you got caught in the middle of family matters. It can be devastating when innocent family members get caught in the middle of somebody else's problems. Just from reading your post I can tell how much it has affected you. I hope you and your brother can get over this and move on and return to your daily lives. I know it's not easy, but rest easy knowing you did the right thing.

Thank you so much Jeff! Yes, it really has affected us. I was so worried about my brother that when he didn't get up the next morning at the time he usually did, I was knocking on his door to make sure he is okay. We were innocent in the whole matter but because we were pulled in to it, we had to make a decision that caused one of the parties involved to get mad and will not speak to us. We knew it would happen, that's why it was such a difficult decision. We have now pulled ourselves out of it completely and will never let anyone do that to us again. I know it's family involved, but family or not, we don't need negative people in our lives.

Sorry about your family troubles. I got the mail this morning and water the flowers. I went to see what kind progress my mother has made on trailer near me. She's a painter. I think I might put off exercising and cleaning for tomorrow.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back even though things seem tough going.
We have all had a situation that we had to step back from.
Wishing you a great day ahead.

Seen and been through that kind of situation without wanting to either and I learned to take a step back so as to protect myself from their hurting and spiteful ways sorry to be so precise but that is the way it was so its always better to take a step back and be as neutral as you can it brings you more peace I can tell you.
Most of it took place in England but even so I love my England.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I agree with you. It started out with us not wanting to hurt someone but when things got out of control, we had to bow out.

Thank you, Dianne! I agree that life is too short for all this drama. We have decided to pull back for a while. Neither one of us likes being played for a fool, especially by a family member. We won't ever allow ourselves to be put in that situation again.

@simone10 Thanks for agreeing with me. Fortunately, my family is very close and loving. That's how it should be. I can't imagine how it gets to that point where families wind up with such horrible problems.
On the other hand, I will not tolerate with friends. Crossed once and adios!

It's terrible to get into a difficult family situation. Yesterday I was working on getting my new router installed so that I could go back to having the internet!

Yes, it has been terrible. The person involved was very good as we were pulled in without even knowing it. She is mad at us and will not speak to us because of the decision we had to make. We can't let that get to us, we just have to go on and live our lives. I'm glad that you were able to figure out how to install your new router.
