Puzzled

Good morning all! It's a pleasant day outside this morning but that will change today. Our temps will be going up some which isn't bad but the humidity is going up as well. I knew it wouldn't last but I have enjoyed the cooler weather.
I thought I had a doctor's appointment yesterday but when I arrived, I was told it was for the day before and I had missed it. Evidently I had written it down wrong in my planner. So, another appointment was made for Monday. I'm sure I will hear about it from my doctor because I have had to cancel and reschedule appointments recently. This time was a mistake, so I hope she doesn't come down hard on me for it.
I wish I knew what has been causing Daisy to want to get up in the middle of the night. This has been going on for a week or more. She will either wake me up around 3:30am or she will wake me up every hour on the hour. This is not like her at all. Nothing has changed in her daily routine. She doesn't have to go potty. I am puzzled on what could be wrong.
I found the above picture on Pixabay and thought it was so pretty. Personally I can't wait for Fall and cooler temps. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Thanks, I had a good doctor's appointment. She finally called me in something yesterday for this rash that has been getting worse.
Daisy has been sleeping better. I had a couple of times when I had to wake her up and a couple of nights when she woke me up.

Maybe Daisy needs a vet visit. I would be concerned. You have a good weekend too!

@LindaOHio Yes, they really can. She has this bark/howl thing that she does when she wants our attention. It is so cute. She also does it when we are eating, it's her way of begging. I have to scold her but it's hard to do because I can't help but laugh at her.

@simone10 So cute. She wanted your company maybe? Our little fur babies can be so expressive.

@DocAndersen That could be. I guess I will never know for sure. When she wakes up, she doesn't like to be up alone. That's why she gets me up.

@simone10 something must have scared her. They run to the person that they feel will understand.

Here, the heat is still there, and humidity as well, though a bit better than before. Some clouds now indicate that we could have some rains later today.

I feel the same way about the cooler autumn temperatures. The weather we have had this past week has made me think of what lies ahead, such a nice time of the year.
I hope that your doctor doesn't come down hard on you, that would be really unprofessional.
I wonder if Daisy's sleep-wake cycle has just changed. I hope that you can figure out a way to get her to quiet back down so that she can eventually sleep past that time without waking. I cannot imagine that their sleeping cycles are a lot different from ours.

My doctor didn't come down on me, she was actually quite pleasant. I think you are right about Daisy's sleep cycle. Since I wrote this post, she has let me sleep in a few times. I think what happens is she can't sleep, and she doesn't like being up alone, so she wakes me up.

@simone10 Before Bella took ill, if one of the dogs woke early, would that one wake the other one and the two play together without waking you?
If so, I wonder if Daisy would like a sleep baby, a stuffed dog toy that she could cuddle with at night and in the mornings. That might be southing for her-I know that it would be easier on your schedule.

Do you think Daisy could be waking you up not because of something wrong with her, but maybe because she is sensing something amiss with you?

You know what Jeff, I never thought of that. That is a possibility. My sister has to use a cpap machine but before she knew anything was wrong, her dog used to wake her up. They figured out that she would stop breathing for a period of time and that's when her dog would wake her up.

@moffittjc That's true. Daisy always seems to know when it's going to storm. She starts hiding before it ever thunders.
Daisy as been better about waking me up, but she still wakes me up a few times a week.

@simone10 Animals can sense things that humans can't. There's got to be a reason that Daisy was waking you up.

I have nearly missed a couple of appointments. If it weren't for their office staff calling to remind me of the appointment, I would have missed them.
Sorry that Daisy is waking you. Maybe she has developed a sensitivity to the food you feed her. My daughter had to switch foods for their dog because of stomach issues.

@ElusiveButterfly Thanks, so am I. She is doing so much better and most of the time, I am having to wake her up. I like doing that because she is so loveable when she first wakes up.

My doctor's office usually calls but now they send emails as reminders. I don't always go through my emails every day, so I missed it.
I'm not sure what was going on with Daisy. Things seem to have settled down now as she doesn't wake me up as often. There have been days when I have had to wake her up.

Our heat is back. Maybe there is something going on outside that Daisy hears but you cannot.

Good thing you have fall to look forward to. Here it doesn't get much cooler till mid winter
Maybe Daisy wants to just get up and do things at night cause it's cooler or maybe she hears things going on outside with others doing things cause it's cooler.

@simone10 little dogs are such wonderful companions I still miss Coco so bad. I go so many days with very little company to just talk with or sit near me now.

@bunnybon7 Yes, dogs are wonderful companions. I talk to Daisy just like she is a human sometimes...lol. I can understand how you feel about Coco. I feel that way about Bella. We lost her in January and I still miss her every day.

I am definitely looking forward to Fall. I'm sorry that it doesn't get much cooler there for you. Daisy is doing good, nothing else about her has changed. I just think her sleep pattern was off for a while. Now, there are mornings she wakes me up and there are mornings I wake her up.

I hope Daisey gets over this getting up in the middle of the night, you need your sleep. My doctor's office usually calls the day before an appointment as a reminder/

Once I am awake, it's almost impossible for me to go back to sleep. I have always been this way so when Daisy wakes me up, well I am up for the day. Fortunately, she is better now. She still wakes me up sometimes but not as often. I am usually the one who wakes her up now.

Don't the doctor's receptionists call you 50 times reminding you you have an appointment???
OMG! Ours does--I have had to request they stop!

Yesterday I was outside on the porch and it was a very pleasant day. I am sorry that you missed your appointment. I am glad you could make another one. That is terrible that she comes down on you for having to reschedule appointments. Did you talk to the vet about Daisy? Interesting picture you put there.
