Is there a relatonship between kindness and political affiliation?

When I was in Montana, stuck with a broken truck (and driving a rent-a-car for $65 a day), two families came to my rescue.
One was the family of my old friend, a miner up the in the mountains. His extended family was visiting the Canyon, and they served me two dinners, let me give their kids music lessons, and supported me in my efforts to find a way to get home.
The other was the family of my parents' old friends. The father of the man I mostly interacted with was kicked out of of Hollywood during the Communist scare of the 1950s. He had been a writer there.
The former family were mostly Trump supporters. The latter family were mostly Biden supporters. The kindness they showed me was unrelated to political affiliation. Is there a lesson to be learned here?

I am not sure because some of the nicest people I met are Trump supporters and I always think how do you support someone that just does the opposite of how you live your life everyday and how your actions are the opposite of everything Trump does, thy answer I always get better than the democrats, really? That to me is a blind political bias that people do not know they have is how I look at it.

@crossbones27 I do like your analysis. A lot of Liberals seem to need something to be angry about, be it racial injustice, sexism, or whatever. Their professed values are in line with mine, but they can be as "reactionary" as the the most die-hard Trump supporters. I guess it comes back to being open to others' views.

Glad they were all nice. I think it all depends on the person.

@TheHorse Some just seem to want to be. I have a cousin that seems to be mad all the time.

@wolfgirl569 Can you think of anything in his past that made him that way?

Kindness has nothing to do with political affiliation. I'm glad you were able to find kind people to help you.

Maybe they were just "paying" you for the good deeds you had done; or they just love to help people whom they knew.
