A busy, exciting week--maybe--maybe not

Okay, so yesterday I got up and made some mandatory phone calls to learn "stuff". One of my least favorite tasks. I went and got some vaccinations, hubby took me to Pizza Hut, and I slept on the way home. At home, per pharmacist advice, I took Benadryl. I took two of them, and promptly lay down to sleep. For three hours. I got up long enough to put sandwich fixings on the table, then put things away. I played a trivia game for points on one site, and went to bed, again. I have slept a ton, but got up at 4 a.m. That was Monday, not too exciting. Today I will be able to get the time keeping function installed on my phone. I got a new phone this summer. Only our IT guy can put time keeping on our devices. I am excited as that means I will be able to be paid. Tomorrow I will meet my friend Jane for a visit at the lake, again social distancing. Then go to a dentist appointment. Yeah, exciting, I know. What I am most excited about is the fact that Thursday and Friday we will have inservice. We will begin to get ready for back to school. We will not have students until September 9. I think that is good. Monday, we are off. Then next Tuesday we begin working in our classroom teams. Learning what students we will have and how we will serve them safely. For the record, I believe by the end of October we are likely to be shut down again. I hate it, but that is how it is.

@changjiangzhibin89 It has not been well managed and our leaders have not set good examples of stopping the spread.

I am just guessing that there will be lots of sickness by that time. I can hope I am wrong, but that is our flu season and it is said that it will make the corona virus worse as well.

@GardenGerty There is something in what you said.Over there the situation is extremely worrying-so far you have not kept the Covid-19 in check.

Good that you are thinking of getting back to school. This pandemic has brought immense difficulties for both students and teachers alike.

Here in New Mexico, school will begin online only. This state is doing well managing the COVID so far. It's not a populous state to begin with, but also we have a reasonable governor, and Santa Fe has a sensible mayor. It's reassuring knowing we are in good hands. People seem to be using their heads around here. Happy birthday!

Thank you for the wishes. Some people feel our governor is too strict and power mad, but our schools were the first in the nation to shut down. The legislature went in and limited her powers over some things, like she wanted all schools to stay shut down until September 9,but the school board did no accept that blanket rule. We have counties that have had no virus, so they are opening more as regular. Many districts voted independently to stay closed til Sept. 9. They just did not want the governor, who is not an educator, to make that decision. People in Kansas seem to get crazy though, or we would be doing better.

I am pretty sure at some point they will send them all back home. Parents have the option now of them only doing online, but they are going to have to be participating six hours per day and do all their homework and assignments. Thank you for the wish.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday! After seeing the number of students, teachers, staff, and their families in Georgia who came down with the virus, I still think it's way too soon to send kids back to school. I'm so happy my grandkids will return to online schooling.
