Things aren't ok right now....

Perth, Australia
August 13, 2020 1:17am CST
Could things be worse? I'm sure it could. But doesn't mean I'm not stressing about what is happening right now. I have yet to answer previous Discussions of mine and like usual, they will be done. I am actually going through all of my Discussions right now to make double sure I've not missed anything. Time consuming yeah but it will just make me feel better once it's done. In my previous Discussion I mentioned my dad being back in hospital. The update there is that he isn't doing so good. There is an infection showing in his bone/s in his foot and the doctors are having a hard time controlling it which means he isn't feeling good, having fevers, having headaches and not eating well. And I'm sad that due to having a cold again, I cannot go see him so I don't spread it to him. He needs to be as well as he possibly can be. Update on myself, I'm sick again. I mentioned not all that long ago that I was unable to attend my Childcare Prac due to catching a cold. I was put on antibiotics, was starting to get better, went to Prac, and got sick again. I spoke to my teacher today and unfortunately, even though my teacher doesn't want this to happen but it seems I only have two choices now. 1: Go back to my course but under a different teacher / class and in another suburb. Or 2: Similar to the first choice only it will be in a couple months time. I'm so sad because I like my teacher and I was having fun with the girls I befriended in my class. This stupid cold / flu (whatever) has made me fall behind. My teacher explained that I am doing so well and this shouldn't be seen as a failing situation. It's just due to my situation that I cannot move forward with the class I'm in now. She also suggested it would be better if I took option 2 so I can have time to help boost my immune system as well as wait to see how my dad is as all this stress wouldn't be helping my immune system either. I didn't mean to but I cried on the phone to her due to what's happening. She was really lovely and just explained that time off would be great for me and assured me again that I'm doing well with my work in class and she personally believes I will do great in this industry. It's just due to being sick, I'm behind with my work. I have til Monday to think about my options. I know I have options. Even more options than what was given to me but I'm feeling like I'm starting to....what's the word? I don't know....losing it all? Maybe that's too dramatic. I'm lost! I guess. I don't know what to do, I don't know how to "stress less." I just don't know. I'm very stressed with how things are at the moment with dad, my grandparents and other personal issues of mine. And to add a little bit more into the mix, my brother....oh man. ok no I will explain that all in another Discussion later. Because I will need to vent about that! For now, thank you for reading. Like I said, I'm going through all of my Discussions so it will take me a bit of time to get back to you all with my most recent Discussions but it will be done I can promise you that. Hope you are all doing well. Will get back to you all as soon as I can!

@abhinalstrikr Thank you kindly for understanding. I do have my own ways of dealing with things but it isn't exactly praying but I do put my thoughts and concerns out into the universe. But more than anything, my trust is with the doctors looking after my dad.

I am so very sorry about your father's condition. I will pray for him that he gets better soon and can come home. I am also sorry that you are sick again. Worrying doesn't help but if you are like me, it's in your nature. I know that you will make the right decision and I will be praying for both you and your father

There's no need to tell you not to stress and worry, because that's easier said than done. I know, I'm going through the same thing now with some things going on in my life. Worry and stress is a nature tendency of our human nature. The key is figuring out how to deal with it. Distraction is a good option, and I'm sure myLotting helps you a little. I know it helps me. Also, try to focus on the positives and look at the possibilities that lie ahead. In your case, you're doing well in your subject matter, received good words from your teacher, and have options to resume the course later. So you've got that going for you.

I'm so sorry your cold put you behind. I'm glad your teacher is understanding and assured you you're not failing but are doing very well in class and will do well in the childcare industry. When you first started the course you were worried about completing it and losing interest. You faced that hurdle and have done well. Don't give up now due to the cold. Press forward and take option 2. It sounds like the best one with everything happening. I'm sorry your dad is in the hospital again and so sorry your brother is causing trouble. I know it's easy for me to say don't stress and take a deep breath. But I hope you will work through this without stressing, and yes, take a deep breath and relax. Do something fun to take your mind off what is happening. There's nothing you can do about your father, he needs to heal and the doctors are doing all they can for him. Your brother-don't communicate with him any more than necessary. Okay, that's my advice and I hope by the time you read this it will have all resolved itself in a good way.

@just4him Thank you Valerie. I will be going back to my course in October so I will be using this time to try get better, help my immune system and just try sort out other things I have been putting off. That is true and makes me feel so much better reading that because I know I have done so much and come such a very long way. I wouldn't want it all to crumble down now so I will keep pushing til I get the certificate and see how I go from there. Thank you again. Everything you said is right. My dad is where he needs to be right now. As for my brother, it's a hard one. I love my brother very much and overall, he is a very caring and nice person. It's just he has some parts of his personality I dislike. And unfortunately it causes me much stress at times including right now. But it's not so bad to where I need to stop communicating with him thank goodness. Thank you very very much for reading and for all your advice. You're a gem!

@LadyDuck Yeah my dad isn't exactly in the best frame of mind and rightly so with everything going on. The antibiotics were for me because all of my symptoms was more a bacterial infection. I am not good with this stuff but I just know that I was told it was bacterial and sounding like I had a sinus infection too. And who knows what I have now.

Obviously, we are doing much much much better than you. Everything you mentioned just made you get buried under a heck load of stressful stuff. I am so sorry. Sending you hugs. I guess now I know why I haven't been getting any replies to messages. I can understand it better now. I wish we could talk somewhere somehow. I have been wanting to for a while now as I have also mentioned it to you in the past. I don't know I just feel we can move on to the next stage form just texting now. What exactly happened to your Dad to make him sick again, if you don't mind telling? Did he get hurt that led to flaring up of his infection? I have known about your cold as well as COVID testing results. Surprised that it came back. Is the weather there changing? Can I suggest you take natural immunity boosters? Stressing out can demolish immunity quicker so you might need to consider natural boosters. I wouldn't recommend medicines or supplements as immunity boosters unless specifically prescribed by the doctor.

@Daljinder Hey dudette. Yeah things are just very distressing right now and personally and mentally, not doing so good at the moment with everything. So what happened was, everything was going fine but his foot formed a blister ( pretty sure it was a blister but for argument's sake I will just keep calling it that ) and my dad saw his doctor as soon as he could and they took care of it. And the lump was going down and healing nicely. The nurse who wrapped up his foot may have wrapped it the wrong way ( maybe I don't know ) but something caused my dad to have that blister / lump to grow again and even put a hole in his foot. And it became infected. So that is what happened. His feet, like most, if not all diabetics have delicate feet. So any cuts and bumps need to be watched. It's Winter here. Pretty sure this is all from doing Prac in childcare and yeah I am taking things to help my immune system now. Still sick but very very slowly getting better. Maybe, I don't know.

@Daljinder DJ! It's been both of that but it was a little bit more than that. My Poppy hasn't been doing great at all and Depression was ( still kinda is ) taking over a bit more heavily. But won't discuss that in public right now. Yeah you are right about that. I feel really bad for him. I'm hoping if anything else was to happen, that it will be quite some time away rather than like next year as that seems to be the pattern. January and August seem to be the pattern really when something bad happens.

@VivaLaDani13 Is Trevor, or whatever creeps he has had been "friends" with, being nincompoops to you? I did learn about your father's "friend" being one from you on fb. So, out of all of them, who is being more of a poop head? Your Dad's situation is now sort of a lifelong thing. He has to be very careful but it is not humanly possible. It is what it is! Good! Keep boosting your immunity. It is much needed.

It is very hard not to be stressed out with what you are dealing with. Just take care of yourself. Your teacher sounds like a caring person. I am glad she understood. Just take care of yourself.

This is just such a shame. Some colds seem to get a real hold on a person and can't be shaken off. Your teacher sounds lovely and I hope you take on board what she said about you doing well. It's not your fault that you're unwell at the moment. Sending hugs to you and best wishes to your father too. I hope the doctors are able to help him.
