Hopkins Michigan resident Jason Burchardt is one happy man after he lost his wallet that contained at least $500 in cash after he had finished eating lunch with a friend at a local park. What makes this story great is that two teenagers named Logan Mishoe, 14 and Austin Nichols, 13, found the lost wallet in the same area after Jason left the park. When the two teens found the wallet, they saw the cash but there was no driver's license and identification so they could return the wallet to the owner. The two teens contacted an Allegan County Sheriff deputy who was able to find the owner of the wallet and return the wallet with all of the money to him. Jason was so grateful that the two teens returned his wallet by rewarding them with $50 dollars to each teen for being honest. To make this story even sweeter, Wayland Police Chief Mark Garnsey made both Logan and Austin Citizens Of The Day for being honest in returning a wallet back to his owner. There are good people in our world after all.

That is so great. My dad found a man's wallet once, and it had $3,000 in it. He saw the license, and contacted him. The man was very grateful, and offered him $100, but my dad wouldn't take it. I am glad the gentleman gave the teens $50 each. Good deeds should be recognized.

I agree with that train of thought that being honest returning a wallet is better than stealing.

I agree with you since if more people would return property to their owner, we would have a great world.

You are correct that the teens were not wearing their masks standing near the deputy.

Yes, they are sometimes hard to find, but there are still some good people left in the world.

Logan and Austin give me hope for the future. Glad that they were rewarded for their honesty. When Mike and I got done playing tennis years ago at a local park we noticed a wallet. I looked in it and found the drivers license and mailed it to the owner the next day. I couldn't tell you if there was money or credit cards in it, I didn't look for anything but the license to return it.
