I think it's time for this kid to have his own gadget

Ever since I got this phone of mine, I did not enable the password or lock feature in it so that no need for me to enter anything when I use it. I worried nothing since the content of my phone have nothing too personal that I should keep it away from anyone else. Though, it would be nice to put a little of security when any body try to intrude or by any chance it will fall to the wrong hands... I would think about it later...
This kid at home didn't care to use my phone not until I have downloaded this shopping app in my phone. The app featured several games which allow the users to earn points that can be use for shopping when accumulated. By then, he will participate the games aside from me which I also allowed. But, the kid seems very hooked to the games now that he will take it over once I arrived home or when I stay home.
The kid, who is just 7 years old requested for tablet but I thought, it's not right time yet to let the kid own a gadget so that was not push thru.
Now, I'm not sure if it's appropriate to give the kid his own gadget so that he will no longer compete with us.
What do you think?

My grandkids received iPads when they were 2 years old for educational games only. It helped them learn to read, do math, and build vocabulary. It's up to you to decide what, when, and where your child uses your phone and for what purposes.

At the age of 7 giving new gadgets ?? is not a good thing. Give your mobile for playing little time

Having a gadget at such an age isn't appropriate.
