Using a Photo

As the number of blocks grows, I don't always have the kit, nor the pattern to work with. A cupboard full of fabrics makes choosing the fabric the easiest part of the process. This block was made using just a photo for reference. I knew the finished size, so there was some simple math fir the pieced portion. Then I used some scraps of paper to make templates for the heart appliqués. The finished block is everything I hoped for.

This is the photo I was working from. The red didn't fit my plan so I used blue.

@MALUSE the red was dramatic, but I found it distracting. I'm happy with my choice.

It's gorgeous! I love it. I wish I could quilt. I wish I had learned from my grandmother before she passed away. She was good at quilting.
