Got bitten by mosquitoes on our hike

When hubby and I went to hike in the park on Wednesday I saw about two mosquito bites on me. Felt nothing. No itch. Now I see close to twenty mosquito bites. Sometimes they itch. I try not to make myself scratch but sometimes it's not possible. Hubby has the same thing. I hope we got bit when we were walking around and not when we were picking those mock strawberries, which we thought were wild strawberries. When we went hiking I never expected to be bitten by mosquitoes, let alone all over the place. We must be very sweet if they drank our blood all over the legs and arms.

Lol. its not funny. I had no idea that Mosquito were in New York. Twenty is an awful lot. Methinks it might not be what you think it is. Might have been the Mock Strawberry Monster. It could be a parasite which has deposited eggs in your blood stream which have hatched. You might need to get it checked out, doesnt sound good

The Mock Strawberry Monster better show his face so I can give him a piece of my mind about these bites.

Nothing is worse than an outdoor summer activity that is ruined by swarms of mosquitoes. Makes it hard to enjoy the outdoors sometimes.

We didn't even see lots of them flying around. Things seemed peaceful. We didn't even know we were being attacked.

@Swayamsiddha The weird thing is you don't see them or feel when they bite. And the itch doesn't appear right away either.

It is, especially when you want to keep scratching yourself but know you can't as you'll itch even more.

@lovebuglena there is one tip you can try. Use Dettol with cotton bud on those mosquito bites

It feels nice doing hiking but when you get to have mosquito bites or itchiness, it's not nice at all. Especially at times when those bites gets you irritated and you can't sleep because of itchy feeling.

@lovebuglena That's the problem with bites, when you scrub or even rub them with your hands, you'll keep on scratching them. Then, you'll never notice you've been scratching for too long that you'll get wounded because of too much scratching.

Good thing I didn't have a problem sleeping with the mosquito bites. I try not to scratch myself unless I can't take it anymore. I was recently taking a shower and that meant scrubbing myself with a body sponge. When the sponge went over the bites I wanted to keep doing that because i had the need to scratch them.

I hate mosquito bites, I usually get them on my arms. One year I had a fly hit my forehead, well the spot became very big and hurt, I couldn't believe that from a fly, it was a huge one.

Lemon and eucalyptus oil are natural mosquito repellents. You might try that. Have a wonderful Sunday.

What are mock strawberries?

They resemble wild strawberries but have no seeds on the outside. They have no smell, no taste, or flavor. They are not soft and are dry. Supposedly, they are ok to eat but I would not eat them as no taste or flavor.
