I just finished watching a documentary called The Conscientious Objector. The story is about a man named Desmond Doss who served in the US Army in World War II. Due to his religion he refused to touch a weapon but wanted to serve his country saving lives not taking them. He wanted to be a medic. He stuck to his beliefs even through all the hard times he received in his training. He would go on to serve in Guam, the Philippines and on Okinawa. He received the Bronze Star twice and would earn the United States highest military honor, the Medal of Honor. Mr. Doss would be credited for saving the lives of 75 men on that day in Okinawa. There is a movie based on his life called Hacksaw Ridge that is really good too. This documentary I found very interesting and Certainly something to watch. It's amazing to me someone who didn't ever waver from his beliefs. He had such faith in his god and no one ever changed that. His faith carried him through things we can only try to image. He was wounded in combat but made it back home and live to the age of 87.

It takes a lot of fortitude to be able to stick to one's faith in trying times such as war. Pretty cool that he was able to stick to his moral convictions throughout his life and his military service.
