I Have the Best Brother in the World.

Make no mistake about it. I have the best brother in the world. The home improvement project is finished. My old, rotted stairs are gone. In their place.....(see picture) My brother designed it and built it. Less than one year after knee replacement. I was exhausted after the work Sunday, and all I did was hold the boards in place. It took six hours from start to finish for him, and another two or so for me to do the staining. What I discovered from all of this: *I can’t handle heat as well as I used to. Chalk it up to old age, or maybe the new tub (walk-in tubs hold heat unlike a regular tub), or whatever, but I’m worn out from the heat...and it wasn’t that hot!!! *He’s not building anything else for me. I’m not putting him through that again. He’s no spring chicken, either: like me, he’s got asthma and a back that likes to scream for no apparent reason at the worst possible time. Sure, he likes doing things like that (you should see the things he’s built around his house, including a new accessibility ramp for my sister-in-law and an “oxygen tent” of sorts for their elderly chihuahua), but he shouldn’t have to deal with his house and mine. *Did I mention he’s the best brother in the world????? Here’s to you, Big Brother!! Y’all broke his heart yesterday by not knowing the Moodies song , so hopefully you know this one. And your trivia: Elton John played piano and sang backup on this song.
