Monarch Morning Moments in the Garden

Was out early having coffee in the screen room. Saw some butterflies in Dustin's garden. Had my iPhone in my pocket, so I went out to snap some photos. To my surprise this beautiful Monarch made its presence among the flowers. I usually see these later in the day. Was pleasantly surprised to see one so early in the morning. And happy to get some photos. These butterflies will be leaving soon for their migration. I hope they can get all the pollen they need before their journey starts. *Update I was asked by @TheHorse if I had to tattoo my photo with my name. My answer is .... Yes I did have to tattoo with my name. My photos are often stolen.

Yes they do and summer as well. They usually visit here through the end of September but the monarch is rare to see.

Do you know how far South the go? We have massive Monarch migrations in California as well. Great shot! But did you really have to tattoo the poor thing with your name? I bet it hurt.

Yes I did have to tattoo with my name. My photos are often stolen. Not a good feeling. I have written about the migration before. They usually fly to Mexico.
Article all about the how and why of Monarch Butterfly Migration. More Monarch articles here too.

What a beautiful butterfly! I also put my name on my photos as they are mostly stolen, too.

@CarolDM Yes, it is sad to know that some people are just lazy to take their own photos. What app do you use in putting your name on the photo? I use Phonto.

Yeah, people tend to make a lot of noise about plagiarism but seldom think twice about stealing someones photo art.

Pleasant surprise at such a time like you had in Dustin's Garden. I had one fluttering last Monday while I was manually cutting grass with garden scissors. So, I was really quiet when it came.

Beautiful photo! I guess it was thinking early bird gets the first worm. ..only in butterfly terms, of course. Maybe I'm not watching enough, but mostly what I've seen here are small white butterflies. But I know others come through here.

They probably come through and you don't even know it. It has been so hot and muggy, I have not spent as much time out as usual. Glad to have seen this one. Thanks!
