Yes, it’s Friday date night for hubs and I. Friday has always been my favorite day. It is also 9/11. I remember it well, but I’m so tired of responding to all the posts about it, and where I was when it occurred. I’ve been doing that every year since I joined myLot as well as written a post about it a few times myself in the past. What you don’t know is that I was freezing after an early, early walk with hubby this morning. I had the heater on in the bathroom while I showered. I had to light the gas fireplace after my shower while I sipped my hot coffee. Haven’t had the fireplace on in such a long time. Now the sun is shining, and I am thawed out.

Have a martini for me. I am back from Montana. Thought of you as my birthday present "occurred" on September 7. So far nobody has guessed what it was.

I think we all know where we were and what we were doing, same when JFK was assassinated, we cannot forget some events. Rain was announced here, but we had a sunny and warm day.

Yes, important events like that are well known by all who lived through them. Our day warmed up and is sunny. I may have my martini out on the deck this evening. Hubs thought it was Friday yesterday and asked me if I wanted gin or vodka. I shouldn't have told him it was Thursday.

Our humidity is 73% according to my friend, Alexa. She's been pretty accurate lately. High of 77 and sunny. It's my kind of day. This morning was chilly, but tonight it will be a freezing 52!!!!! Our weekend looks good so far. Enjoy the warmth while you can!!!

@DianneN That's fun going out in a chilly early morning. We will be experiencing that probably in December or in February when the ice in Siberia starting to melt for its chilly breeze is coming to us in the Philippines.

I hope that your Friday evening was well spent. 11 Sep 2001 was indeed a very grim date in US as well as Human history. Yet in a way positive for India, it was after this day that US started cooperating more with India in its war against terrorism, and especially the State (you perhaps know which state)sponsored one. Before that date, US often overlooked Indian concerns on this aspect.

Here we are at Friday again - how did that happen! Yep 9/11 - everyone has their 9/11 story. Freezing? Heater? Fireplace? Oh my goodness . . . I can't even imagine that right now. Well, it has cooled off significantly - the smoke is blocking the sun. It looks a bit overcast all day . . . and this morning there was a little dampness to the air like fog - I had to wear a light jacket.

I am so envious of you that you are already enjoying cooler weather! It is still hot and muggy here in Florida. I would be happy if just the humidity would go down at this point. Maybe in a month we will see temps and humidity start falling. And by that I mean it will only be 90 degrees out instead of 95! haha

How are you feeling now after having your hot coffee and seating next to fireplace? When you walk body still remain cold and hence you can feel more cold. But if you are running initially you might feel the cold but later you will feel better. That's my experience.

I would hate to be that cold so early in the year. I like it hot and for me the 56f this morning was way too cold for me. Now at 9:16am it's 59f, not as cold but still too cold for me. Yeah, too many people do seem to want to know where everyone was that day which is why all I do is send condolences to the families affected. Many today are only in their 20s and couldn't really remember much about all of this but have probably read about it in their history classes.

They must feel the same way I did when reading about WWII @DianneN but then Vietnam did have a personal impact on me because a lot of the boys in my high school were drafted and sent over. Back then it wasn't unusual for Army brats to be older than the average student.

Well, I am glad it has warmed up and will hit 77 today. The only thing I like about being cold is sleeping under the comforter. We keep the a/c on if it isn't 65 by bedtime. I agree with you about 9/11. They even start teaching about it in the lower grades now.

I have quit responding too. Nobody remembers the true feelings that day anymore. That day we were simply Americans. Not black, white, yellow, or red. Just Americans. I cant put enough laughing there. Still have not turned any heat on here. Was even just outside barefoot.
