On the right hand side of my MyLot screen there have been ads recently for Buffalo meat. In one of the ads it says, "Regenerate the prairie." It of course harkens to the days of old in America when there were Buffalo EVERYWHERE. But... But... You are selling me their MEAT! How will I regenerate the prairie if I just simply eat your Buffalo? Hopefully you can breed them faster than I can plate them. Sorry...just how my mind works.

The buffalo we eat here is not in the wild. It's all farm bred.

@aureliah Almost anything commercially sold in the United States is highly regulated. You can't just kill a racoon, chop him up, and put him into the meat bin for sale.

I don´t think I would like to eat buffalo meat. We don´t have that here in our restaurants.

@marlina I bought some a couple of years ago from a site called Buffalo Gal. It was very expensive. I know I bought a couple of roasts and tried to cook them both a different way, but they both turned out to be a bit tough and dry. It was unfortunate. I am sure I did not cook them right.

Buffalo is actually very good. Not much unlike beef, but certainly much leaner than beef is. It is very expensive though.

Yeah, contradictory. I am heading back to veg head and fish. Save a buffalo.

Same thing with the canned trophy hunts of elephants, lions, etc. which are supposed to support their "conservation".

Luckily, many of those hunts in many places have become illegal.

I know what you mean. My husband has had buffalo meat; but I have not. The sight of those majestic animals and the thought of how they were slaughtered almost to extinction holds me back. Have a wonderful Sunday.
