First Time Calling Sick

Today I had sudden bouts of vomiting and I actually ended up all shaky and weak after. I feel so sick that I reluctantly called in sick for work tomorrow. I was so worried to be absent. I realised it’s actually my first time calling sick for the year. I always try to come in even when I’m not feeling well.

Thank you Sharon. I feel less weak now. I think the vomiting just did exhaust me. After a nap I felt better. Still weak but at least not vomiting.

@sharonelton I’m drinking in small sips as I am too scared to make my tummy feel all bloated and uncomfortable again.

@Bensen32 I hope so too. It’s hard to be sick without mum even when I’m a full blown adult.

There is no point going to work if you're not well. You would just run the risk of infecting others. Hope you feel better soon.

That’s true Judy. Although usually we do tend to feel guilty to call in sick. For instance with migraines I force myself to work. Or with menstrual cramps. But well nausea and vomiting can be infective.

Still feeling a bit gassy but not vomiting now. But I think 48hrs of day off will be just me to rest.

I’ve taken some peptobismol and paracetamol. It seems to have helped.

Where do you work? Do you have contact with the general public? This is a time of year when many people are off sick. As soon as the schools go back after a long holiday people pick up more bugs and sickness levels go through the roof.

What's wrong? Why is it sudden? Did you eat something? Better see your doctor.
