The wildfire smoke came back yesterday! How's the weather where you are?

I haven't been following California's wildfires closely over the past few days, as the smoke finally cleared, and we had some lovely sunny days.
But yesterday, the smoke came back, and it made it a tad hard to breathe. I could still see blue in the sky, but the smell was pretty strong.
I'll attach a picture I took looking west at the Columbia River Gorge, East of Portland, on my way home from Montana. This is from when wildfires were raging in Oregon. It's oddly pretty, but it is NOT a sunset photo. The sun was still at 20 degrees above the horizon, totally blocked by the smoke from the wildfires.
I hear they've had some rain up there, and that things are better. How is the weather where you are. Did you experience any smoke from the West Coast wildfires?

I hope we get some rain soon. My plants are doing OK, but I have to remember to water them every day. Did I tell you that I used a chainsaw the other day? I was helping a friend move some old planks and tree branches from his back yard. Does that mean that the engagement is off, and I won't be marrying you and your boyfriend?

@andriaperry I actually enjoy it too. But I don't own one. Can we "still be friends"?

Believe it or not, we have had subtle hints of smokie clouds over Michigan, from those fires.

I believe it! A week or so ago the weather people said satellites were seeing smoke in the air over the Atlantic, heading toward Europe. However, I know how the news likes to sensationalize things, and no European MyLotters have (to my knowledge) reported seeing smoke over there.

@kobesbuddy Wow! Did the weather people say whether it came from the West Coast or Colorado?

They said a lot of the haze earlier in the month around here was due to the west coast smoke blowing this way.

@TheHorse — it is. Consider how far the ash from Mount St. Helen went!

@FourWalls I lived in Seattle when Mt. St. Helens blew. We were playing softball and didn't hear a boom or feel an earthquake. A few days later, I drove to Montana from Seattle. The ash was everywhere, like snow, swirling behind me as I drove. Can you guess which John Prine song is playing in my mind now?

We actually got smoke all the way from California which colored our sunsets. It's all so sad. I hope everyone out there gets more rain.

@LindaOHio We'll see what happens. It's another warm and hazy day here as I sip my second cup of coffee.

@TheHorse They're saying El Nino is to blame; and the lack of rain will continue. So sad.

It is concerning the situation about the wildfires, glad to hear they're doing better after some rain. Weather in Santiago is so good now, it is fresh and sunny outside.
