Tonight is the first of three debates between the two candidates for President in the United States, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. It's the main topic of discussion on media outlets today, and many Americans will be watching. But debates seldom have a significant effect on the outcome of an election. How about you? Will you be watching tonight? Who will you be rooting for? I'm rooting for the USA. Update: The USA lost

I'll be watching. I look forward to Biden sweeping the floor with Trump.

I hope that Biden uses Trump's orange mop and get a good clean up

I would really like to see them both debate the issues, but with Donald Trump that's not likely to happen.

I'll watch, but I'm not going to say that I won't turn it if I feel like I'm starting to get too aggravated with what's being said. I'm rooting for the USA too.

It will be 2 a.m. tomorrow morning in Central Europe when the debate starts. I don't know yet if I'll still be awake then. I doubt it. I think I'll watch it tomorrow.

It's 8 pm our time and that is getting close to my bedtime most nights--or at least the time I stop watching tv and begin reading. But I'll be watching our Presidential debate as I've done for many, many years now. Hope you get to watch it.

No, I'm not watching. I agree, it won't affect the outcome.

@pjmurphy I'm just the opposite. I stay as far from politics as I can.

It probably won't affect the outcome and most people have already made up their minds, but I'll be watching. I'm a political addict.

Rooting for the USA is great. I agree with NJ Chicas, I hope that Biden does really well and T-Rump does not.

I guess we'll know in a few hours. Each team will do their best to spin the facts and make it sound like their team won. Trump fans will think Trump won, and Biden fans will probably think Biden one. And if the media doesn't agree with these assessments, they'll be called fake news.

Debates actually can be quite impactful in determining the election, It's all about the 5-7% who are undecided, and often times THEY are the ones who determine the outcome.
