Brilliant orange caught my eye this e'enin'. Flutterin' 'cross the vines, dancin' 'round the trees lower branches.
I confess my heart skipped a beat's my first thought 'twas a Monarch. Grabbed the camera'n the pursuit began. 'nly time I'd lost sight 'f such 'twas goin' through the back door, so'd a general idea where to look fer this beauty.
'r so I thought. 'fter scourin' through the vines close to the ground, my eyes wandered 'p 'n down tree branches. Nope, that's a leaf. Nope, that's a leaf, too.
Most likely I walked right passed this lil darlin' numerous times!
Easily distracted, I shot some video 'f a Curve-billed Thrasher. 'twas 'njoyin' a nice lil shower'n the sprinkler which surrounds my lil sanctuary. Paid me no mind't all 's 't fluffed 'n preened 'n scratched itches.
I'd still one eye out fer that lovely butterfly I'd seen 'n nearly'd given'p hope 'f seein' such 'gain. 'magine my surprise to find 't partakin' from the hummer's feeder!
'f course, ya can't see 'ts brilliant color'n the pics taken. Looks like a leaf, with a very interestin' markin' 'pon 'ts wing. Do ya see 't? The question mark there'n the lower wing?
I reckon whome'er named this lovely creature 'twas kin to the fella that named that Brown Thrasher. Why? Coz this'd be called Question Mark Butterfly.
Did snag some video where's the brightly colored tops 'f the wings can be seen. I'll figure how to edit such one day...
Fer folks who wonder why we see butterflies 'n some see'em most oft, here's a link which might offer some 'nsight.

A very unique butterfly. Does look like a leaf too. Reminds me of a chameleon I saw trying to blend in on my brown deck. Resembles this one in the photo..

Ohhhhh, this looks like an autumnal leaf
! Glad it took a rest on the feeder so you could get this lovely shot. If I really look, I can see the markings, though I'm sure in person it's so much more. I love what that link says . . . though I wonder what it means to see many squirrels
. . . maybe it means I am nuts

I could never understand people saying they are 'bored'--all they have to do is look out their window!!

'tis jest a wee'un 'n a tad sideways :) 't first i'd thought those white spots to be either damage to the wing 'r bird poo, lol. out 'mong other autumn leaves, 't blends right'n. i saw 'nother this morn'n tree bark. couldn't get a pic 's the camera refused to focus'n anythin' but the bark.
