One bud so far and back at the mechanics

I noticed this week my Christmas cactus now has one lonely bud which is pink. I've got to step up my weekly watering. I have yet to have the whole plant bloom at once; I think because I forget to water it often enough. So, we'll see how it does and I'll update you if I get more blooms. On another note I'm at my mechanics again seeing why my traction lights keep going on and off. I hear the speed sensor is also nearby and that may be the actual problem. I don't want to worry about driving in the winter so getting it taken care of maybe today depending on cost and time. I'm also off on a partial vacation this week. I'm cleaning windows but not cashiering so might see you more.

@MarshaMusselman here's ya a link, quite 'nformative 'bout when to fertilize, how/when to water fer optimum blooms, etc. mercy, i'd faint 't any auto repairs 't this time. that bein' said, i've a window down that we can't get back'p...'t'll go down, so aint the motor i'm thinkin'. gotta get't fixed though 'fore the weather surprises's with some moisture. that'n wasps...i'd truly dislike 'em buildin' a nest 's such 's not driven that oft.
A Christmas cactus needs three things in order to bloom. Start these in the fall and your cactus will begin to set buds in the winter.

@crazyhorseladycx thanks for the link. I think I'd I remembered to water it weekly I'd get better blooms. As for windows my driver's window is the same way. It will go down but gets stuck on the way back up. I have to wiggle it to get it back on track but mine only quits when it's partially up. Not sure what causes these types of issues.

I don't fertilize and barely water that's why I think it doesn't bloom properly even when there are blooms. The car cost under five hundred but I paid cash at least and it seems that's what was needed as the lights are off again.

Mine sit in windowsills and the side that is near the window blooms first then I turn it around and the other side blooms. I hope it’s an inexpensive fix!

@MarshaMusselman that’s good to know as I have always only watered mine once a week never more when it bloomed.

@shaggin same here and in recent years I've not had the whole plant bloom at once so I'm hoping I can change that this round.

It was just under five hundred. I could have let it go but this way no warning lights are bugging me constantly. As far as the plant I have gone a long time in the past forgetting to water it. I learned from crazys link that once it begins blooming it needs more than a weekly watering and some humidity so I plan on doing better with it this year. We shall see the outcome. Maybe more will bloom for me.

@marlina I have a jug of water near the plant but that doesn't mean I'll remember often enough

Hope you get lots more blooms on your Christmas cactus. They are so pretty when they bloom. I always found it a phenomena when the know when it's time to bloom. Hope all got fixed with your car

I will probably share on my cactus again if it does better than usual this year. The car is done but more expensive than expected but at least it's working better again.

Enjoy your partial week off. I am on a full week off, due to being in class with a student who tested positive to Covid. My Christmas cactus has a lot of buds.

Maybe you're is a Thanksgiving cactus of is blooming already. Even though we lump them all into the same name they aren't all the same plant exactly.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, I did read that. Maybe you posted about it before? Our Thanksgiving is over! A Canadian Thanksgiving cactus should know where it is

If it's starting to bloom it needs water more often and miss humidity to get better blooms.
