Good morning to a new day. Gadgets.

This is a day to confess, dear friends. I fell for a new gadget of those "as seen on TV". It is called sumo slicer and it is supposed to cut, slice and grate everything under the sun. After I bought it (it will take some time to come) I had a moment of repentment. Why would I need something like that! But it is done. And now that it is the season of fruits and veggies, I will make awesome salads while the veggies are in season. Have you ever succumbed to these sort of temptations? In fact, I don´t spend much in clothes. But I love all these gadgets. And sometimes I don´t even use them. Have a lovely day. I´m off now to my notifications.

I used to give to such temptations a decade back and then collected a lot of things I didn't use. Some I parted away as it came useful to others and few are still with me. Now I really think before I buy. Hope you make good use of it.

I have bought some not so expensive but not useful things now out of boredom. Better than to pay for a shrink online

I cannot blame you. You love to cook so you love anything that is used in cooking and baking.

I wouldn't spend on gadget unless I need it so bad. I would spend more on clothes.

I have some clothes the are 25 years old. II´m not much interested in them although all of them are good clothes. But to have a gadget that slices thin slices of carrots! That´s a miracle

I have something similar to this and, really, it's a rotary grater more than a slicer. There is a slicing blade but it is not very effective, in my opinion. I use mine mostly for grating cheese (the fine grater is very good for hard cheese like Parmsan and Pecorino), carrot and for chopped nuts. For thin slicing, I prefer my mandoline which is sharper and does a much better job with cucumber, potato and so on.

It will all depend on the steel blade. I confess that I don´t have great faith in it as it is a chinese product.

Yes, one time I ordered a spaghetti combo with a lid to drain pasta water, and spiky spoon. It was of poor quality.

Yes, we have had such gadgets which looked awesome and very useful but did not turn out as much. Once I purchased a device that recharged AA cells. Yet I got to use it very rarely. Now, I do not even rightly recall where in my house is that hidden!

@marguicha Sounds very interesting. If you do not use them, since what do you do with them? I hope when it comes it will work out well and you will like it.
