I have a habit of taking the news that I consume from multiple sources. No single source of headlines and analysis can ever give you the complete picture - sometimes you have to get a pencil and paper out and make a few notes or calculations yourself. Ms. Merkel is an intelligent woman and she is clearly showing that she understands that the situation is serious. We also have a woman leading our country and she more or less told us the same last week.

And another success story in New Zealand, also with a female Prime Minister - and one who was just re-elected for another term in office, too. Is this a pattern, I wonder?
