Got this chore done

That machine up front? Kind of like a lawn mower? That is what I call the Weeder. See the green just beyond that? That used to be knee high in alfalfa. Not easy to walk through. Hubby went out and yanked on the Weeder's cord and pumped its carburetor. Again and again. We finally went back into the house and said Later!! This afternoon just as he'd given up on the cantankerous machine, its engine roared to life. Tomorrow I probably will mow the front yard. I've been watering the willow tree that lives there so its a waist high green mess of weeds there. One chore at a time!

@JimBo452020 This little hummer machine is the best solution for my rough property.

@sallypup My mower is good for rough terrain and grass about a foot high if not too thick

@JimBo452020 Sounds good. There are some thick stalked sharp weeds here that are murder to mow down.

Glad you got it going. Hubby thinks he will have to mow one more time yet.

@sallypup Usually we are done mowing by now. But with warmth and rain the grass has still been growing. We were able to skip this week. But it is supposed to warm back up again.

@wolfgirl569 I know what you mean. I can't believe that I picked almost a quart of raspberries today. Its almost like August is back. But next week the nights are headed to below freezing. I will do what I can for as long as possible.

@wolfgirl569 I'm hoping that this is the final mow. I am not watering that area any more this year!! I should mow behind the house after I am done with its front yard. That back area got watered too much, too. Not so much sage brush there so it is green and sweet but too tall. (Can't win.)

You wouldn't use this to mow an entire yard right just like a weed whacker to do edges etc?

@shaggin I do use this machine to mow whole fields. It is a weed whacker but far bigger than the little whackers. My ground is too rocky and sometimes steep for me to use a ride on mower.

Is it the same as a brush hog? Looks much better!

@LindaOhio I think its similar but the brush hog might be tougher and made to tackle bushes.

Your yard looks really nice. It takes a long time to get your yard looking nice.

@jstory07 Thanks. This is one bitty part of my yard. I have three acres to mess with. Three acres is like taking care of between 12 and twenty house lots- and not a lot of this is flat and even.
