What can you see on food labels?

It is obvious that we see the nutrition facts about the food. The percentage of how high the calories per serving and the like. Some people forget to check the marking date when it is still good to consume. Others consume a particular food more than the specified date. What is your concern when buying something? Are you more concerned about the food label or the marking date? Image Credit: cdc.gov

The food label does not concern me much if I want or need the food but the date of expiration is always important,

Whenever I buy groceries, I do not usually check the food label. I am more on the expiration date.

I also do the same thing. I am more on this matter because some canned goods need to be stored for quite some time.

@shubhu3 Some sellers are good actors in selling goods. We need to be so vigilant not to fall into their deceptions

I almost always ignore those label when l see one. I am not that health buff that l seldom read it. But l usually check the expiration date of most products especially those that are sold on discount since most of them are near expiry when sold on sale.

I am also keen when some items are cheap in price. I checked the expiration date before buying them. Most supermarkets are into this strategy to attract consumers.

@Shavkat True and many are easily lured to buy one when they are offered at a sale price.

I always look at the dates & the food label. I'm on a low carb low calorie diet and cutting back on sugar so I always check food labels when buying.

@Blondie2222 I agree. It is better to check the sugar content because it can lead to acquiring diabetes mellitus.

We are on the same boat. It is better to see the marking date than feel bad if it will be expired so soon.

It is best to be concerned about this. If I am health-conscious, I will also check the food label.

I look at both. I want to make sure that the food has a long shelf life and that it is healthy. Although, I personally do not believe that food manufacturers are completely honest with their food labels.

I look at both. It has been a habit of mine to look at food labels. I read the labels. I want to see what's in the foods I eat and of course, for obvious reasons, I am very particular with the expiration date too, we all are and we should be.

I'm more on the expiration date. I don't mind those nutrition facts because most of the time, I will consume the whole pack at one setting even if it is more than the RENI.
