Wrong cookies in the box

I went to a nearby store Saturday and saw that they had the French butter cookies I like there for $2.99. They usually sell for $3.69 in my local Russian grocery store. I decided to get a box. These cookies come in a few varieties: lemon and almond, wild berry, coconut. I chose the lemon and almond ones. When I got home and opened up the box I noticed that it didn't seem like the cookies had almonds inside. I removed the wrapper and bit into one and that was the case. No almonds. Turns out that the box and individual wrappers were for lemon and almond cookies but the cookies inside were wild berry ones. And those were the cookies I did not want to get. I do like them though, just wanted lemon and almond this time around. I've never had this happen to me before. I wonder if I would have gotten the box of wild berry cookies if inside the wrappers would be lemon and almond ones.

I can maybe understand if the box was for lemon and almond cookies but the wrappers said wild berry and the cookies were wild berry. But this is crazy! Now, the box says product of France so I am assuming they came from France. I don't know if cookies get packaged by people or buy a machine or whatever... But someone screwed up big time. Wonder if the other boxes on the shelf had the same issue or if mine was the only one.

@lovebuglena Probably a little bit of both. Usually there is a quality check and inspection before anything goes out. Maybe in France they do it differently. lol

@porwest On the plus side, there were actual cookies in the box. Imagine instead of cookies it was something else entirely. Or just empty wrappers.

That's odd. Were they commercially packaged or locally done?

@lovebuglena That's very odd that they would be packaged incorrectly.

Yep, I was a bit bummer when I opened the box and saw the cookies inside were those I didn't want right now. Still enjoying them though. Not sure whose fault it is but the packaging says product of France so assuming they were imported from France.

Yeah. Never happened to me before. At least there were actually cookies there and not something else or empty wrappers.
