I Burned my Eye

A couple of weeks ago, the bathroom light went out. I replaced it with a new LED bulb. I did not realize the switch was on. I climbed on top of the toilet and reached far over to screw in the bulb. There was not enough room to open a stepstool. The light flashed on and its brightness burned my eye. I only saw green splotches for hours. It is the eye with a new lens after cataract surgery.My sight came back but my eyes have hurt ever since. Never look into an LED light. Have you ever injured yourself in an unusual way?

I would love to hear an interesting story you have. It is bad. It could have been worse. I was standing sideways so the light only hit one eye directly.

@akalinus Slid while making the bed on my hardwood floors with socks on. Tried to catch myself with a stool, with my knees. Pain for months.

mercy, that'd to be most painful 'n scary! i can 'njure myself jest walkin'. see a trail 'f blood'n search the critters all o'er fer 'njury. jest to find 'tis myself who's left such.

Wow, I can do the same. Sometimes I look at an arm or leg and there is blood dripping everywhere. How does that happen? I never remember hurting myself. It just happens. I hope you are okay.

@akalinus aint't frustratin'?? the hubs gets mighty cranky when i've nary a clue what might'a caused such. yes ma'am, i'd be fine. nothin' i couldn't handle 'n what's one more scar? lol

I am sorry that happened to you. Have you contacted your eye doctor about it? If so what do they say you can do to not be in pain or have blurry vision?

Thank you. No, I haven't. It is hard to go anywhere and I hate to keep asking people to take me places. It still hurts. I guess I could call and ask for advice.

Hi, my eye is okay but I have a lot of pain around the eye. It hurts to blink. I know it sounds weird but that is how it is.

@akalinus If your eye hurts it is an emergency. Anyway a LED light cannot cause a permanent damage, if it was a UV light yes.

@akalinus Yes.Once I was trying to make a piece of iron an electromagnet. I wrapped the iron with an insulated wire , connected the other end of the wire with switch board and switched on, but forgot that the iron rod is still in my hand.I received a heavy shock and fell down.A palm was burnt.
