So it was the day for cleaning of another of our rooms. Diwali is not very far- almost 3 weeks.
So we took the help of a new extendable rod with a fluffy duster-head and dettol antiseptic and soap solution plus cleaning clothes.
We cleaned walls and fans. The fan cleaning was so tricky. It had wet and sticky dust which took a lot of effort.
I would have to wash the dirty cleaning clothes with a lot of detergent in the washing machine.
Then I went for some time in a nearby park with sun shining, and weather being pleasant.
Yes, lesser time here today, but the room is so so cleaner.
And my better half cleaned up with so much more effort! She is more particular about cleaning.
Yet I think I cleaned the fan pretty well.
Any house cleaning experiences to share?

I also use a long rod to dust my ceilings and walls. Just dust here, but my hubs helps me do cleaning every day and I am in charge of the laundry.
Our vacuum attachment come in so handy with vacuuming and dusting furniture and draperies.

I plan to buy a vacuum cleaner when some of my debts have been settled. That can come in handy, especially for the dust inside window sills and some such places.

Yes. My only concern would be that since we have so much dust in our house, would that clog up the vacuum cleaner fast? And would I need to get to spend more on its Maintenance?

It is so satisfying to do this cleaning.
Yes today it is both the bathrooms but it is very cold outside with snow.

Quite cold indeed ! Snow makes things pretty difficult but can be pleasant too if the sun comes out.

Yes chandeliers can be tricky just with the cleaning clothes. We have the effect of dust as well as pollution and that makes our fans and walls quite dirty.

My husband feels that I do the Diwali style cleaning all through the year.
And fans get a turn every second week.
So I can very well understand your wife. I hardly get to do anything special fro Diwali cleaning but still do it as it is a tradition to invite Laxmi. And I do not to miss Laxmi at any cost

Now with the extendable rod and better cleaning utility, I think we might be able to clean more regularly. Yet, definitely not every second week!!
