Butter, not margarine

When I make myself a slice of toast it must have a good dollop of real butter on it! Margarine, low-fat spreads or any other kind of (so-called) healthy spread is anathema to me - it's 'toast with butter' not 'toast with healthy, low-calorie spread'. Same with boiled or baked potatoes; a healthy chunk of real butter is the only way to go. PS: I have no trouble believing that's not butter!

Margarine is not healthy at all, a bunch of hydrogenated fats mixed together, this is what the actual product is. I also only want real butter.

I'm glad you enjoy your butter. I am satisfied with the low-fat spreads.

My personal chef says that margarine is fine for most cooking but real butter makes all the difference to the taste

Maybe they should call it “I can’t believe you think I wouldn’t believe it’s not butter.”

I like both. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter tastes pretty good to me.

Sounds like something my husband would say. When it comes to food, he's completely against the "healthy alternatives", calling them "not real". While I can agree to a degree, some foods, unless they told you, you might never know.

I will go with my grandmother's saying: 'A little of what you fancy does you good'. She also said that everything in moderation is fine. I don't overdo the butter in my diet - just really on toast.

At least butter isn't loaded with chemicals like many so-called 'healthy' spreads are

I'm fairly health conscious, but I agree there is really no good substitute for butter. I just try to go a little easy on it.

Margarine, on the other hand, is a tasteless goo!
