I didn't notice it until I got into my car and my foot stuck to the carpet. A lump of chewing gum I must have picked up crossing the car park was firmly fixed to the sole of my shoe and the carpet of my car! I realise that some people (not me) actually enjoy chewing gum but for goodness sake, why don't they dispose of it properly into a bin instead of spitting it out for some innocent pedestrian to stand on and trail all over the place. Disgusting!

That's terrible! You can try putting an ice cube on the gum and then pulling it off the carpet.

Yuck. To get it out of the carpet, rub peanut butter into it, then use a good grease cutting cleaner to get the peanut butter out. Yes, the gum should have been wrapped in a bit of paper and thrown away.

I've heard that the best way to remove chewing gum is to freeze it with an ice cube and then break it off

I hate it when that happens. I chew gum occasionally, but I dispose of it properly.

@ScotMac I'm always ticked off when I wind up with gum on my shoe.

It costs a small fortune to remove gum from the streets. 'Orrible stuff

'Orrible indeed - the manufacturers of such rubbish should be made to fund the clean-up costs

Manners. Tsk. It is the upbringing and discipline. Small things that are really frustrating.

@ScotMac Somehow yes. And yet if it was done by an adult, what a shame.

Ugh! And it is so hard to get out of a carpet. Some people are so rude and thoughtless it beggars belief.
