Five dozens free range eggs every week!

October 26, 2020 1:03pm CST
I met this lovely lady on Facebook Marketplace. She raises 20 hens as a hobby. We've become friends as seller-buyer relationship since last year. She started out with $3 per dozen. And raised her price to $3.50 two months ago. She's still my favorite person to buy from because everyone sells their free range eggs from $5.00- $8.00. So, even though I still have 8 dozens in the fridge, and she messaged me that her hens have been doing well with 5 dozens every week, I readily accept every time. My children and I used to raise hens. But foxes ate them all overnight. And we haven't gotten into reviving the chicken coop since.

Haha! My daughter said that it's healthy to eat 3 eggs a day when she and her husband were on keto diet. So, I took her word for it since. Well, I try to. They're easy to cook when I don't feel like cooking. I have a large family, as well. So, I share it around with my them and their little families.

@everwonderwhy I think I might get tired of eggs if I ate 3 a day but they are easy to cook. Sounds like you need to start baking, that will take up some of them. Good you have a lot of family to share them with, its nice that you can do that.

That´s a nice earning hobby. 8 dozens of eggs are plenty to me. So how many eggs are you eating every day?

Haha! I try, at least, 3 eggs a day. Besides baking, pancakes, quiches, burgers, omelets, salads, eggs-when-Mum's-not-cooking... etc. My married daughters are happy to have at least 2 doz. each.

I'd love to be able to raise my own hens, but our town won't allow it. and we do have many fox in the woods. You and your friend are helping each other out.

We lost our last chicken a few weeks ago. Coyotes here, instead of foxes. The coyotes ate the foxes. I would love to find someone to buy eggs from locally.

Try your local Facebook Marketplace. You might be able to gain some new finds there, too. Oh, no! So sorry about that. Do you wish to replenish your chicken flock? Bad coyotes!
