Mine has to be an Irish Setter or a Great Pyrenees ! I had one growing up and my goodness, they are BEAUTIFUL. I have a Pyr mix currently. Both AMAZING dogs!

I love them all. Two years ago though, I wished to have a beagle but my husband's best friend sold us one of her Pomeranian-Chihuahua puppy and I love her anyway. :)

@campost You probably miss your dog. Hugs. Youre damn right about being hyper but also the sweetest.

@jdbces I do miss her! She passed away February 1, 2017; just 3 days before my middle child was born. She was a good girl.

I had a Beagle/some type of Terrier mix. Oh boy was she a hyper one! However, a PomChi....now we're definitely talking hyper! Cute as a button, though!

We all have different tastes in pets. I loved my blonde Afghan hound and English Springer Spaniel.

Yes, we do. That's what makes it fun to know. My mom used to breed Cocker Spaniels.

I don't even know most of the breeds. The popular ones, I might know or at least have heard of. But basically, as long as it's a dog, I'm fine. Could even be a cat!

@campost We were never cat people either. We were more dog people. ... Until my mother fed a stray cat and she stayed. So now, we have six cats. And two dogs.

I never liked cats BUT the older I get, the more I understand the cat obsession. They're basically not around and take care of themselves.

@moirai Oh man! I can definitely see that being my thing. I am a bleeding heart for a stray!

I think that dog owners to tend to prefer the dog breed that they have at home. My niece loved the Golden Retriever, because she had one. My cousin loved the Great Pyrenees because she had two, the female had a terrible personality.

@campost No one wanted to be left alone with the Great Pyrenees of my cousin, I surely did not feel safe.

Great Pyrs definitely can have bad attitudes. They REQUIRE abundance of training and TONS of patience. I had to put mine in his place when he was just a tiny pup. Even to this day, I still have to "fight him" for Alpha, even though he doesn't challenge it; more so just to remind him. When I "fight" him, I just wrestle with him and pin him so I'm always on top.

@LadyDuck That's a scary situation! That's not a healthy relationship with a dog because those *can* be dangerous dogs.

My husband and I had once a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog. Sad to say that he is on the rainbow bridge now.

@tooslow They are soooo adorable. I just, personally, don't have the patience for them. I barely have the patience for the two other dogs I have. I love them dearly, though.

I generally love the mixed german shepherds. They have the kind of temperament I really like and are usually intelligent

@campost I thought about Irish Setters until I had my own dog. I had a lab-husky and loved her so much and also love golden retrievers.

I don't know how Irish Setter or a Great Pyrenees looks like. Ours is mongrel. We don't know the breed of Choey and Spot. Our youngest son has 6-week old puppy. It's Maltese Shih Tsu breed.

I have two toy poodles. I have two miniature poodles before these ones. I like golden spaniels. I am best with poodles because they don't molt. When I am out with my dogs I like seeing other dogs out on their walks.
