Time Change, Full Moon & Halloween

All three will be happening in most states on this Sunday morning at 2:am. I always change the clocks before bedtime the night before. Some states never change their clocks. I hope we will all be on the same page one day. It has been talked about for awhile now. But this year we have the time change, a full moon and Halloween all on the same night. Not really a big deal. However I do enjoy seeing the full moon from the deck. I hope it will be a clear night and no clouds. The days will be even shorter with the new time change. But it will change again in the spring. Have you ever been later or early due to the time changing?

@DocAndersen I know you are. The weather has been extreme this year. Hope our winter is not too bad.

Signs are usually put up for the time change and now that our phones are done for us that really helps too. I don't believe the time change affects the length of day it just gives more light in the mornings and less at night so it seems we have more darkness. I believe every day is a second less (or is it a minute?) than the day before until the winter solstice

@CarolDM ah but the sun rises earlier in the morning. Therefore supposedly the time is changed so there's more daylight in the mornings but less in the evenings.

The sun sets at a different time, making it shorter in my mind. Your point?

@MarshaMusselman I am referring to sunsets, and they are earlier. Of course the sunrises are earlier as well.

No, not really. It doesn't really bother me. I enjoy the extra hour when the clocks go back, but my husband hates it. He likes it better when they spring forward. But, if it is a full moon, it'll be a long night for me. Well, hopefully not, George goes back to work the day after Halloweeen.

My husband and I are polar opposites when it comes to that kind of thing. He likes heat, I like cold. He likes longer days, I like the extra hour to sleep. @CarolDM

The clocks changing can be very frustrating when you go back but lovely when you earn extra time The clocks recently went back in Europe and because my husband and I have friends and family in the UK/Europe, we always have to prepare ourselves to avoid being late for anything. Hope you enjoy seeing the full moon from the deck, dear Carol

The dogs always had to get used to the time change. They have a better clock in their bodies than we do.

@CarolDM Yes, they wait for their dinner and treats at a specific time; and the food is not forthcoming!!!

Animals are so smart about time. It has to be confusing to them.

In Chile, they change the time when it is Winter. As summer approaches we got back to the usual time.

Yes, one time I went to church an hour early, that was weird! I think I heard it is going to be a blue moon on Halloween.

Yes, I was late for church one time because I changed it the wrong way. It was a chance look at the VCR time that had me rushing out the door. I hope it's a clear night too. It would be nice to see the full moon.

Maybe this is a harbinger of better things. Remember, we started all this covid crap when we went on Daylight Savings Time back in March. I personally think that someone with a little bit of knowledge of science should set the time zones instead of "voting on it." (That's how Louisville ended up in the eastern time zone, according to my dear mother of blessed memory.) There's a county between Louisville and Elizabethtown that's on central time. There are places geographically east of us who are on central time. HELP!

I certainly hope so. And I agree, no votes, just do it, across the board. Hard to believe it has been that long!

We always change our clocks the night before also, so we have never really been late or early following the change. I have gone a while after the change with the wrong time on the clock in my vehicle, my hubby changes that for me.

That's what I've just heard about in the news--the full moon will be seen in all time zones. It hasn't been done since 1944. What are the odds? I've been early a few times. But I always set my clock. to go off at 2 Am to go back an hour. Then reset it to wake me up at my normal time.
