COVID-19 vaccine ready by Christmas? I don't think so!

November 1, 2020 7:06am CST
As much as I really want to be optimistic about the vaccine for COVID-19, I don't really think it's possible to be ready and available by December 2020. Even big pharma companies' prediction didn't come true. So, let us be realistic, we are going to live this "new normal" for a little longer. This will be a not so merry Christmas to most of us. What do you think?

I think you are right, our doctors and virologists told us not to hope to see a vaccine before spring 2021.

But here in my country, it will be ready in this November. I am not sure how effective is that tho.

We have heard so many promises that now we donĀ“t know what to believe I guess it will take time to get it all done properly and tested the right way.

Sadly (sigh). I think most of the predictions didn't consider "what if trials fail?"

Let's just wait and see. What we need is to be vigilant, obedient to health protocols. Nothing else we can do.

It would be heartbreaking for anyone to put too much hope on that quick of a date. The most likely scenario is going to see any vaccine -- not being available to the general public until sometime mid to late next year. That is if a Vaccine is approved by December and we do not know yet if any will pass the vetting process. Keep your fingers crossed, and your prayers constant

This is ready in my country, but I do not know that it is still postponed for use, there are conditions that have not been fulfilled.

Covid will not ruin my Christmas. I've no doubt it is possible to have a vaccine by then (not saying there will be one). But I don't think one is needed.

Even if it were ready, I would not take it. I have never taken a flu vaccine either. I refuse to allow anyone else to decide what is normal for my life as well. For my family, its life as usual. Of course, I am sure there are some mylot guidelines that limit discussions of controversial topics, so I will leave my comments at this. I will say, hang in there, though. God is still in control. Even when we don't see Him working, He is. I hope you have a very blessed day, even in the midst of these discouraging times.
