The Reality of How Safe You Truly are Hits Close to Home

Up until the beginning of school Little Miss and her cousin that lives close to us would often have play dates. They became quite close as a result. Her mother works at a bakery/eatery where they always wear a mask and follow proper safety protocol. So, I felt quite safe being around her. She hasn't been around since Halloween, and that was only to pick up her goody bag. They posed for pictures with Little Miss. Two days ago, her mother had direct contact with someone who tested positive for the virus. She is now in quarantine for 7 days as is her daughter. She cannot be tested for 7 days. This is worrisome for me. We were planning to go visit my son, his wife, and my grandson on Sunday. Looks like I should cancel it for now. She now tells me that she worked with this person the week before, which does mean that anyone she came in contact with was exposed too. So, yes, we will quarantine. Hoping that when she gets the test it comes back negative. Very worried now.

@DianneN the cafe where she works has patrons from near and far. Mostly from afar though. So many try to push the envelope and not wear a mask.

We are doing well thank you. Her test came back negative so we did not need to get tested. That was a huge relief. I was so worried about having to put Little Miss through that. Praying that I never have to.

I am sorry that she has had contact with someone positive. This is a terrible virus, we cannot feel comfortable during this time, which is very hard. So many people are dealing with anxiety and experiencing nervous issues that they never had prior to the pandemic. There is so much to take into consideration, who we allow in our bubble, and to what extent, where we go and so on. I hope that you are all prepared to stay home and stay safe. I wish you well.

I am in quarantine now for the second time. Once I was in a class with à student who tested positive. This time Hubby was at hockey with someone who tested positive.

We had an outbreak in our state stemming from a hockey game. It was further up north from where we live.
