We´ll have a weird Christmas this year.

Last year the final breakup between Claudia and Rafael was because he behaved like a spoiled brat because HIS children (from a previous marriage) had chosen to spend Christmas with their mom.
He managed to made Christmas miserable for all of us, so much that Claudia finally decided to put an end to the psychological abuse he gave her.
All this year, he has called Sofía twice. He does not answer her calls or takes her anywhere. Fortunately Sofía doesn´t seem to mind.
This Christmas, Claudia received a call from Rafael´s children. They asked her whether they could spend the night of the 24th (Nochebuena) with us and with Sofía. Claudia said yes. I guess the children (now all young adults) do not want their little sister to have a disrupted family only because their father has severe personality disorders.
I´ll have to look at something to give to everyone of the kids. Not too expensive (they are not my grandchildren) yet a little token for each one of them.

@JudyEv I don´t know. But I can´t imagine why their father does not buy a pizza and invites them to his house.

@marguicha Haha - maybe the food is part of the attraction.

@marguicha I do the same for my step-grandsons. I've always tried to treat them equal.

The important thing is to give them a little something.

I´ll check if I have some things at home that can be "wrapped".

I would have shooed him away a long time before. I don´t have any patience with controlling people.

I´d say they are normal. I think that their father is insane to say the least.

I just pity them. Their stepmother´s house surely is a sort of plan B.

That is nice of the kids. We have Christmas on Christmas day here. That gives the kids plenty of time to visit grandparents and the other parent also as we are both divorced from our kids other parent.

Rafael´s children came to Claudia´s house in the night of the 24th and they had the actual Christmas the 25th with their mother.
Last year they decided to go to the beach one day before Christmas and Rafael punished us for that.

At least that should make Christmas brighter for you all.

I don´t mind much one way or another. But my Sofía will be happier and that´s what counts.

It's really sweet the other children want to come spend some time with Sofia. Token gifts would be wonderful or maybe a movie night with special christmas treats.
