I will be stuck home about three more weeks if not more and not from covid

Course many of you have been stuck at home for nine months now but not me because I work for an essential business. Last Thurs began my time of short term disability from work and it could be for about three more weeks or so depending on how fast the ulcer on the side of my foot heals.
Right now I wouldn't want to try to go anywhere as it still hurts from getting rebandged this morning. I'll spare you the details but it's not fun and then it throbs for several hours after. I think that it's finally tapering off a bit.
This means I'll still be around mylot a bit more than usual and after this I'll try to find some other topic to write about instead.
I pay for short term disability at work which means if I meet the criteria I have one week off without pay and any additional weeks I get paid 70% of my pay after taxes and insurance premiums. When I go back at part time hours if that's still necessary then I'll get paid what I work and a percentage for the other four hours each day that I would have been working.

We have the choice of paying for them and it makes a lot of sense to me. It's inexpensive too at maybe six dollars per pay period if that.
And it's nice to be around here more for a change.

Hope the ulcer heals quickly.
We are semi locked down. Originally we had plans for this weekend, but a flare up of Covid in our region means that we are back to travel restrictions,

We are back to lockdown restrictions. Not everything is closing though but a good many. I hope more business won't be forced into closing because of this.

It is actually a benefit many people have the option to use. I am glad you have it.

While it's readily available where I work not everyone knows what is for. One young fall as a baby and didn't realize it was available and missed out. She was miffed but we don't know when someone plans to get pregnant before hand to let them know.

@MarshaMusselman nope doesn’t look like to much to me. Gosh who would have known this could happen due to blisters!

This one was caused by blisters from shoes I was breaking in but it's also a result of varicose veins and my skin being stained which makes the skin less pliable. Moisturizing is beneficial and is causing the staining to recede slowly.
I wear support hose daily but that didn't help. I was going to post this pic above and changed my mind the area under the white is were it is but not that big. If this is too much I'll delete the photo.

@shaggin I know. Had I realized that I would have quite wearing them sooner. It is in an area I had an ulcer there two years ago otherwise maybe the skin wouldn't have been quite so fragile.
You can get ulcers anywhere I think. Where they're located and the cause might be related to how quick it heals.

The fit is getting it's rest. It's finally not hiring like yesterday so I unloaded some of the dishes and may try to do a bit more this week if the pain is minimal.

@LadyDuck yesterday was much better and I'm hoping today will be the same way as I have a project I want to begin.

My benefits, insurance and such will take most of it but at least I won't have to pay that out of pocket.

It can be but mostly the day they re bandage it. That's the worst. Yesterday was a good day overall and if it's possible today I hope to work on a project or two.

The ulcer was better today when rebandged. It went from three ulcers down to one and a smaller one. We're expecting the smaller one to be gone next week and then it will only be the larger one to heal up. And the body can work on that alone but it could still be another few weeks yet.

My foot has good days and bad days. At least now I can sleep without it spasming which it did again earlier today. I finally got up to watch an odd movie..

@MarshaMusselman That's a plus that it didn't spasm on you.

@KristenH a very big plus. It seems to spasm more after they do the bandage change as they have to clean the scabbing out so it heals correctly. Once I'm home again it was spasming but after a few hours it just hurt. Today though was a better day and it barely hurt at all.
