Just as well

Our usual Thanksgiving celebration is at my brother's house. More than a month ago we decided to not have the big gathering. It is just as well. My brother is waiting for test results for Covid 19. He does not have flu. He does not have strep. His rapid covid test came back "invalid". His doctor says when that happens usually you are covid positive. His results will be in on Monday. I have a friend in McPherson who is positive, as well as her husband and 20 year old son. I have a friend whose husband is positive. All are on the mend.

I guess you'll be extra thankful if the result turns out to be negative. Enjoy your turkey wherever you have it.

@BarBaraPrz Frozen would work but it is uncommon, unless they just toss the left over fresh ones into the freezer. Yes, if all else fails we would do canned. When I start with fresh I do some interesting things to it, like apple and spice or jalapeno.

I think Bob and I will just have a chicken. We do have two turkeys in the freezer. I have not found any fresh cranberries, though.

@GardenGerty How about frozen? Then there's always the canned variety if all else fails.

Good thing you already cancelled it otherwise that'd be a bummer being so close to the day now. Hope he gets better fast.

Yes, it is good we were careful. He has more health issues than I do, so I really am praying he will be okay.

Yikes, I don't think I would be going to a gathering where the host was presumed to be Covid positive.. Good luck with that one!

We were not going to have it at all. Now he has even cancelled church services for tomorrow.

Ooh, I’m so sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes well for him and the rest of your friends. I have friends who got it — the entire family (mom, dad, both sons), but thankfully they were better within 10 days.

The one friend has had a fever for fifteen days. Had some kind of a secondary infection in her ears/sinuses. Finally got better with antibiotics. My brother is not running a fever but has flu like symptoms.

I hope your brother has a mild dose - if he has it at all.

No. I have not been around him, he is 200 miles away. I have not been around anyone who is positive.

I hope so too. It may still turn out not to be covid, but he does have some kind of virus.
