A drizzly and dreary day here in Louisville, but that doesn’t mean the light can’t shine on some of our famous natives! Here’s another person who was born right here in Louisville and went on to national acclaim.
#12: Don Francisco
The son of a professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary here in town, it seemed that Don Francisco had two options: wild rebellion or following into the ministry. He chose the latter.
Along the way, he’s released 22 albums and won two Dove (the “gospel music Grammy”) Awards for his work. The awards include honoring what is probably his best-known song, “He’s Alive,” which has been covered by countless artists (including Dolly Parton).
One of the shining gems in contemporary Christian music!
