I worry, therefore I bake

When I get worried or stressed, I bake. Unfortunately, I then eat. When I found out Nathan had a fever, I of course was frantic that he might have "THE VIRUS." Just got a text from him that he's feeling better. He had a migraine yesterday, so not sure if that had anything to do with it. They're thinking maybe food poisoning, but not really thinking Covid or they'd be at a doctor's right now. We know and know of people who've had Covid (two of them died), but when it's your baby boy (yes, he's my grandson and he's 17), it hits too close to home when they might have the virus. And yes, I know lots of people recover. But some don't. And that scares me. Anyway, while I was praying and fretting, I baked some peanut butter cookies with pecans and chocolate chunks. Now if I can just get them in the freezer before I eat too many, I'll be okay. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for Nathan. I'm still not 100% reassured that he's not sick with ?, but our daughter and her husband will take good care of him while they're in Florida. And God's taking care of all of us. No matter what happens.

Thanks, I'm so relieved. I wish stress made me clean instead of cook!

I'm glad the news is good so far. I think when a person is very worried, they have different ways of distracting themselves. At least you can freeze your baking.

@JudyEv It's such good news. I didn't realize how upset I would be if I thought a family member might have the virus.

I put most of the cookies in the freezer so I wouldn't eat them all. Nathan seems much better this morning.

For plain peanut butter cookies, it's one cup peanut butter, one egg, beaten, one teaspoon vanilla extract, and one cup white sugar. Mix and bake at 350 degrees for about twelve or thirteen minutes until lightly browned. My grandson is feeling better this morning, thanks!

COVID-19 is a scary virus. I hope it turns out that he doesn't have it. It's natural for you to worry...just don't eat too many cookies!

I ate about four cookies, then quickly put them in the freezer, lol. Nathan's dad said Nathan talked to a doctor by video call and since his fever is gone, the doc said he probably had a light case of flu or ?, but didn't need to be tested for Covid, praise God.

I did eat several before I put them in the freezer! Nathan's dad said Nathan did a video call with a doctor and no need to be tested for Covid. Nathan was feeling better this morning and I'm so thankful.

Hoping that Nathan gets completely well soon - good that he is feeling better at least. Ah, I don't stress bake, but I sure know about the stress eating . . . and if I happened to have baked, I just know a lot of it would be gone in no time.
