Time for the Heart Attack Mashed Potatoes

I love potatoes in any form but mashed potatoes are my favorite. When I had my former mother-in-law's mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving I couldn't believe how amazing they were. She gave me the recipe and I've been making them for special occasions ever since. My family calls them "Heart Attack Mashed Potatoes" because they have butter, sour cream, AND cream cheese in them. They are actually lighter than you'd think though because you whip them after mashing and mixing everything together. They are great because you can make them a day or two ahead of time as well. They are certainly not low calorie but they are delicious! I make them for Thanksgiving and for Easter. That's about it. The rest of the time my mashed potatoes are a bit lighter. (Lighter not light ) They are from my ex's family but now they are a tradition in my family too.

My doctor friend invited us over to her party once . .. I brought a spinach artichoke dip with fatty (but delicious) ingredients . . . and she called it a heart attack dip . But for one meal - eh - let's enjoy the good eats!

Exactly. That's why I only make them a couple of times a year.

5 pounds potatoes, 2 blocks softened cream cheese, 1 stick of butter, and 1 cup of sour cream along with kosher salt and pepper. Mash and then whip with electric mixer to make them light and fluffy.

I love potatoes in any way, shape or form as long as there are no onions in them. Thanks for the recipe proportions.

It's been a long time that I had mashed potatoes. But I have boiled potatoes nearly every day.

It's okay. It's not like you eat something like that everyday. Count it as your cheating day
