Will you be eating turkey today?

Some people celebrate Thanksgiving and will eat turkey some people celebrate Thanksgiving and do not eat turkey. Some people have their celebration some time Thanksgiving week and may or may not eat turkey. As for me, I am a traditionalist and always celebrate on the day and eat turkey, and most or all of the trimmings, depending on whether I cook or not. Turkey for you today?

Nope. I save turkey for Christmas (unless we choose to have chicken or beef or goose). Tonight I shall be having a traditional and very British macaroni cheese.

It is a Turkey day, tomorrow. Apart from the Turkey, it is always good to be in a celebration, being thankful for what we have.

I would never eat chicken on Thanksgiving. I eat that the rest of the year. The holidays call for something a little different in my book.

I am cooking turkey today. I do not always make turkey. I have had ham and beef roast on the menu for some years. It is not always about what you eat but about having your family together. That is the biggest blessing. I am missing many people.

@snowy22315 I got emails of my nieces and sister in law having dinner together with the kids and kidlets. I wish I lived closer.

As far as I know only American's and Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving, but Canadians have it on another day.

My husband, son, stepson and brother in law ate the Turkey. My daughter and I did not. My daughter tried a bite at least but didn’t like the texture.

This was a strange year for me. It's the first time I didn't have turkey on Thanksgiving or eat with the family, though it almost happened. This year it was lasagna. I planned for my son and grandson to join me, but they couldn't stay for it to come out of the oven.

My parents had meatloaf! Someone asked if it was a made with ground turkey? That was probably the first time they didn't have turkey on Thanksgiving since 1956 when I heard they were stranded at home in a blizzard..and ate hotdogs..since that was all they had on hand!

@snowy22315 That was a desperate Thanksgiving to eat hot dogs. I was going to have sloppy joes, but my son doesn't like sloppy joes, so had to come up with something else, and then they couldn't stay long enough for it to come out of the oven. I gave him the lasagna this morning when he brought me home from therapy. I kept enough for today since it isn't on my diet.
