Ok, so can we talk about those keto cheddar bay biscuits?

I've never had the regular ones. You can get the red lobster kits at the store, and I had one at one time but never used it. The keto version is 3 net carbs per biscuit as compared to 16 net carbs for regular ones. It's really simple to make too. A couple of cups of almond flour, some baking powder, garlic powder, egg, cheese, butter and heavy cream. You mix that altogether and then form them into balls. You flatten those a pinch (not too much) and then bake it on 350. The recipe says 12-16 minutes but you really just have to eyeball it. We did it for longer. I've been a little hesitant to make anything with almond flour, but I'm going to have to look for other keto biscuit recipes and give them a try. Recipe for those who are curious :
See how to make keto cheddar bay biscuits (cheesy keto biscuits) in 30 minutes! These easy keto low carb cheddar biscuits taste just like Red Lobster ones, with only 3g net carbs each.

Thank You. It was delicious and more importantly, simple to make. No kneading the dough, no waiting for yeast to rise. That's the way I like it.

I had tried to make something like those when I was doing keto. The trouble for me was that I still had no discipline not to eat more of those as they tasted so very good.

@RebeccasFarm Today is my official "shape up" day. I enjoyed my two cheat days, but I've got to get better before December 12th aka cookie day with the friends.

I was bad this weekend, Ocean. I had some macaroni and cheese, really rich and decadent cake and something else that wasn't strictly keto. I paid for it later with a tummy ache yesterday.

They are. We still have some left over, but I think I might make them again sometime this week. Maybe with spaghetti.

Sounds pretty good! I use a similar recipe with mozzarella cheese instead for a different kind of biscuit which is good too.

Do you happen to have a link to that recipe? Or can you tell me more about it? My uncle loves the cheddar bay biscuits but he gets headaches from cheddar.

@MommyOfEli2013 Ah okay. That sounds simple enough really. I'm guessing the amounts would be comparable. I could always eyeball it if it came down to it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have the recipe written down in my recipe book, but not sure about the link - if I can find it I will share it. But sounds like the only difference is the cheese and take out the heavy cream and add sour cream. And that recipe might not have garlic powder.

Thank You. Yes there are a lot of health benefits to switching with keto. I don't even crave carbs like I used to. In fact, I felt awful after eating carbs this weekend.

@jdbces True, and as you know, not all diets are effective. Everyone's body is different but I think keto is one of those diets that can work for everyone.

I've used cheddar and colby jack cheese to make these. The cheddar is obviously better but colby jack isn't bad either.

I wish I could, but I'm doing low carb so I can't just pick up any ol' biscuit or loaf of bread anymore.

It's something I think would go nicely with spaghetti, pizza or even soup.
