I can't forget my shoe

I take a shoe with me to each appt with the wound care specialists but last week I forgot it. I will be surprised if my foot gets wrapped up again today because it's not been hurting at all. If it doesn't get wrapped I'll need a shoe to wear home. I've been wearing modified slippers.
I modified the left slipper that has the foot bandaged so I could get the slipper on my foot better.
If I don't get it bandaged with the wrap again I'll be going for a bit to my sister's condo where there's a nice carpeted hallway that I can put on my new shoes and see how they fit before getting wear marks on them. I'm hoping they work out fine.
If my foot doesn't get wrapped that way I'm expecting that I'll be going back to work sooner than later, so my extra amount of time here might be coming to a close. But I'll keep you updated on that later.
Edit: almost done with my appt and turns out I won't be wearing shoes just yet. The last ulcer left has a layer of good skin on it and we're guessing next week should be my last with going to the wound center.
So, trying on my new shoes will have to wait another week.

Today was the appt and although it's so much better my foot is wrapped one more week. After next week I'll probably have no more reason to stay away from work anymore.

@Hannihar it's been healing so quickly now that the other once are healed that I can't imagine being able to stay home longer. If it's not healed but won't need the wrap they might also okay it for me working shorter shifts for a week before going back to full hours.

So that means if it is still not ok and not wrapped you will still have to go back to work.

It itches but doesn't hurt. I might change my mind on that after my appt but won't know for an hour yet.

@porwest it's down to one partially closed sore which they decided to wrap hopefully one more time. I thought for sure it was going to be completely healed but at least it's closer and the other areas have filled in completely with new skin.
Now I have to wait until next week to see whether this one too it's filled in enough to mean I'll be going back to work or what exactly.

@MarshaMusselman I am sorry you still have your foot wrapped, I hope it will not be long before it completely heals.

It's not quite there yet so they did wrap it again. I'll be surprised if next week isn't all the way healed though. But time will tell.

@LadyDuck I'm guessing I'll be going to work next week but things don't always heal the way it feels like it is. So we'll see.

I have another week with the wrap and if it heals the rest of the way I'm guessing I'll be back at work next week or so least before Christmas.
At least it's closer yet.

@MarshaMusselman Yep. Patience is a virtue, I suppose.

@TheHorse I'm pretty good with patience overall other than where my husband is concerned which might actually negate any and all patience I've ever had.

I have to wear the wrap I one more week but it's come a long way in just a weeks time. The last ulcer isn't deep at all as there's a thin layer of new tissue where the hole was before.
