Our New Deck

We began the project in August and it was finally completed in November. Too bad it’s too cold to use and enjoy our new deck. All the furniture except for the table is stored in a section of our garage until the spring. The one nice reminder is that the solar lights on the posts light up at night. We can see some of them while cuddled up under a blanket while watching TV at night and dreaming of warmer weather. Meanwhile, today is beautiful. I am sitting on a bench MyLotting in a coat in the front yard. Morning walk was good!

Looks nice. I enjoy the deck but the screen room is my favorite. Enjoy the day!

Thanks. We have our family room which when doors, windows, and skylights are opened serves as a screened in room, too. It was originally designed as a screened in room.

Gorgeous deck and property. My deck's stair railing feels wobbly but it will be that way for some time. We spent our moolah on the living room floor and front door. Hey Santa??

@DianneN You're right. So we had a new front door installed rather than waiting for the old one to fall through its frame.

@DianneN I'm glad they finally finished this deck for you. We still need stain on our front porch, probably in the spring.

That is a nice deck you had made it should last forever. What kind of wood was used and was it sealed?

Thanks so much. No wood. It's a TREX deck, railings, etc. It will outlive us.

Brr, you're making me even colder than I am already. I'm mylotting in my house with a blanket on my feet and a coat on my lap. I thought of wearing the coat but decided against that. It's only 36 or so here. What is it there?

@DianneN They are harder than duck's teeth to find these days, restaurants have snapped them all up. My friend Cindy has been looking for them for the last couple of months.

The solar lights will be great and last much longer once we get more sunlight. Can't wait to entertain next spring. We are thinking of buying one of those outdoor heaters that restaurants use to get more use out of the deck.
