Errands done, turkey thawing in fridge, it's time for some chit chatting

I finally made it to Kohl's today to look for ugg boots of which there were three or four styles but not large enough for me to even get my foot in them. Well I guess I did get them into one pair but it was a super snug fit. I bought two pair of boots last week from my store. I'm not sure yet but I might keep both because with discounts and Santa bucks together they were less than fifty dollars. (I just decided against the shorter pair as there was no extra room in the toe area and I needed to move my toes if only slightly. After Kohl's I went to my store to get heavy duty aluminum foil to wrap the turkey pan for easier and hopefully drip free transport to my daughter's house for Christmas dinner. I got the foil, a bottle of egg nog with brandy in it and some other essentials. Then I went to the bank to pay my second to last installment on my van loan. And I got bills paid earlier today. What I really feel like is a nap right now but I'll see what some of you are up to first. And to help me in having a cup of coffee flavored with hour chocolate. Pic is the two pairs of boots I bought. Btw, how will suede or knitted exterior boots hold up to the weather, anyone know?

I think suede boots will hold up fine, just weatherize them with a water repellant. That's how I kept mine in great condition although I no longer own a pair. Love eggnog and have gallons of it sitting in my frig as we speak. It's thawing for tomorrow and Christmas Day.

We've not bought egg nog in years. Often when we did get it we only bought what was in the dairy and never added liquor but it's good this way too. Warms up the bones.

The boots were a great deal. 30% off and then Santa bucks and my discount on top of that. I think it ended up with the ones I'm not keeping at less than half price.

You mean the boots? I'll take back the pair I put a white x through. The shorter ones unless I see if a daughter can fit into them.

Leather boots would be better in the winter l imagine the snow would leave them stained and as for knitted ones the wool would absorb and hold water! Have a wonderful Christmas.

I'm taking the knitted ones back they are much to tight. The leather ones on the shelves were much too small too. Carol suggested a weather proofer on the suede. I have another pair from years ago that might work if they aren't too right on the area under my inside ankle bone which is currently extra tender.

Those books do look cozy and comfy. I wear suede or leather in the winter and they hold up fine. Careful the salt or snow don’t stain yours.

I always wore leather when I would go out in the cold. But you can use a water repellant on the suede.

That's what others have suggested. I will have to buy some after Christmas this year.

I have some decent boots to wear at work, but no snow boots. I guess I do not plan on any snow. I have some shorter boots or booties that are man made "leather" and are peeling but are very comfortable. The other boots I have come almost to my knee.We will be non traditional this year and have meatloaf and Bob is out hoping to find a Marie Callender razzleberry pie. I have made cranberry sauce and we will have some kind of potatoes, of course. I hope you find some just right boots for you.

The boots I'm keeping won't be just the right ones but will have to do for awhile. They'll be helpful if I need to clean any snow. I may weather proof them to ensure they stay dry longer or I can put them near my heater vent to dry out overnight if they get that wet. Maybe they won't. The turkey is non traditional for us but we didn't get one at Thanksgiving time.

I wish you and yours a lovely Christmas to, Rebecca. Others have suggested weather repellant so I'll have to look for some at work or a show store in the area.

I think that using a water repellent the booth should wear well in bad weather. Enjoy your eggnog.

@MarshaMusselman I have a spray water repellent made by 3M and it's very good, it's called "Scotchgard Outdoor".

The egg nog was quite good. I'll look for the water repellant next week when I work again.

@MarshaMusselman That is a good deal. Good idea about not wanting the shorter ones. I bet it feels to get bills paid. What does coffee and chocolate taste together. Are the smaller ones the uggs you mentioned?

@Hannihar not right now. I'm not willing to go to a bigger city to search and there's no guarantee that they will work any better. I don't wear boots all the time. Mostly when clearing snow. I can also get some where I got my recent shoes and those carry my size but I'm not sure that I want to spend the money just yet.

None of the ugg brand shoes fit. They may have had larger sizes at one point but I don't frequent Kohl's so I've no idea if more were in stock at one time or not. I would have liked to keep the short ones too as they are easier to get on but the other, taller pair, should be fine too. I've had hot chocolate mix in my coffee long before flavored creamers came on the market. It basically tastes like hot chocolate but the coffee helps keep me awake if that's desired.

@MarshaMusselman I see. Isn't there anyplace that you can find the uggs in your size?
