December 23 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was very good.
I'm thankful for my time in the pool and fitness center this morning. I got a good workout in both.
I'm thankful I got my laundry done and spent time with my son. I used stairs for the first time since my knee surgeries other than the steps leading to the pool deck.
I'm thankful Christmas dinner will be at my son's. After much thought on why there instead of here, it's better because I would need help to get the turkey out of the oven as my back wouldn't allow it. Having it there, my son can get my grandson's help with dinner.
I'm thankful for watching another wonderful Christmas movie from my collection. I'm slowly making my way through my Christmas movies.
That was my day. I confess I did overdo it. My back is in a lot of pain from the lifting and stairs. It's also time for me to get to bed. I will be in the pool in the morning unless my back says otherwise.
Tomorrow it's going to be very cold with wind chills in the negative numbers when I get up. I'm still praying the weather shifts and we get snow. Right now they are calling for .3 of an inch. Most of the snow is going north and east. Minnesota is under a blizzard advisory. Snow is expected here on Sunday into Monday.

That is a beautiful picture.
Your mother was very talented at the sewing machine.
When I was very young, my mother made me a green velvet dress. It was very plain, but she bought a ruffled collar that buttoned over top of the dress and cascaded down in the front.

That's how I know this is my fourth-grade picture. Aren't they horrendous? And to think that style is back. I'll never wear this kind of glasses again.

@just4him aw, great pic! i'm glad yer gonna continue with such 'til ya can get that worked out so such's manageable without the need.
wonderful that'cha didn't ferget nothin'. i've 'lways found't most diff'cult to haul schtuff back'n forth fer special times. jest thrilled y'all got to spend that time together, 'njoy each others company'n good food.

@crazyhorseladycx Thank you. I know the last time I had back trouble, it took a while before it was all worked out.
Yes, I'm glad I didn't forget anything either. However, I left a few things behind that I need to pick up. Some on purpose, as the pots need to go through the dishwasher.

Yes, I'm still seeing the chiropractor. It will be a few more times yet.
With all my son's telling me he wasn't coming over for dinner, I had a feeling deep down I would have a nice Christmas. I hoped it wouldn't be at his place again. Last year was okay, but I forgot so much and had to come back to the apartment for what I forgot. This time, I thought of everything ahead of time and was fully prepared. So, it went better than I expected. I told him it would be my place next year.
This is not a complaint. I enjoyed a wonderful day with my son and grandson.

I am sorry about your back pain and happy about your steps progress. You need a good rest and you deserve it after that good workout. 
I am thankful that I had a good day on 23. I visited old albums and cherished old memories with my husband and children. We had good laugh. Now it's 24th and I start my day with a new hope.

I'm thankful my husband had a better day today. I am thankful the weather had been comfortable and continues to be. I'm thankful Chinnia, my cat, took her meds with little issue today.
