"My Country is the Safest Place Around the Globe..." Wow!?!

Can you believe it? One of my Chinese students online is claiming this statement: 'My country is the safest place around the globe.' Honestly, I am just brushing it off. According to her, she got the vaccine today. Claiming that her country is the safest place to live in now. I wish I can have a big-time argument with her. I can't because it is not allowed. This time, she is the queen. I let it pass and let her have the benefit of the doubt. Do you think the claim is too bold? Image Credit: lh3.googleusercontent.com

I haven’t checked the stats, but I doubt she is telling the truth. The virus is alive and well everywhere.

I think her senses are not active when claiming this. If I can only ask her about some facts to back up her statement, I will do it

Do you know that the Chinese reporter who announced the virus to the world is in prison since the past month of May??? What do you expect from someone who lives in China? It's DANGEROUS to tell the truth, they can only tell what their government allows them to tell.

They will be in big trouble if saying things against their current government system. It is given that they are having vaccines now. For me, she needs to be sensitive that not all people can have the vaccines instantly.

I just go with the flow. I don't need to entertain it that much. Besides, I am more concerned with the current situation of my country.

@Shavkat We also have the vaccine here, but, I do not feel we are safe and who knows when we will be. As a matter of fact we are in the 3rd lockdown. It must have been very hard to hold in what she said and not be able to say anything about what she said.

She is just out of sense when claiming this. I don't mind if she had the vaccine. Unless if they are going to give these vaccines for free. In the first place, they are the root cause of this pandemic.

@Shavkat I believe people are the root cause. There are so many here that do not care and do not follow rules and do not understand those that do. It is very very frustrating.

I am sure other countries don't have COVID-19 like Tajikistan. Even Singapore that is considered the cleanest country, they are having this virus, too.

With the press under strict surveillance from their government I think the people there hear only what their government want to know. You pretty well know that and the government is just covering up their mess since the outbreak.

@Shavkat True and sad that a billion or so people are blinded by the government to control them to their whims.

@rsa101 I am sure that some of them are not happy. I had seen some people who vanished without a trace when they said against their government.

Their government is so good to brainwash Chinese people. Most sites cannot be accessed in this country. Most of them don't know what's going on in this world.

That's just her opinion, and I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't heard the whole world say that.

If their covid numbers are low that is good news, but she should not get ahead of herself. When people think they are safe that's when numbers start to rise again

I agree. What if the new strain of COVID-19 appeared in her country. I felt bad that she keeps bragging about these vaccines, which I don't prefer to have in real-time.

his claims are too bold, there is not even a safe place in the world in the midst of a pandemic like this, most cases in the world, countries that seem healthy alone have more sufferers without symptoms, we worry that there will come a time when there will be a surge in patients, and I think vaccines also less effective to use, I prefer to use and drink herbs rather than vaccines, prevention is better than cure

We are living with uncertainty now. We do not know what will happen if this virus will not be controlled sooner. I find it insensitive for her to say this.
