Gotta Start Counting!

The picture above is the beginning of my new shirt. I'm using the same pattern / tutorial video as before. The length of the project is well.. The length of the shirt. The width you see is the first sleeve. I'll add more to the sleeves at the end. The yarn is an ombre and I can't wait to see how it develops. I'll be tweaking the pattern a bit. Instead of eight rows in the middle, I'll be adding ten rows. The sleeves I haven't decided on. I might make them longer. I think this yarn would make a beautiful sweater.

@RebeccasFarm As far as crochet goes, it took me a bit to get used to identifying and counting stitches. Sometimes they are twisted and I have to flip them inside out to count them.

It does look like the same blue of Eeyore. It also makes me think of a pair of jeans. There are little flecks of white in the yarn that isn't visible in this picture.

@CarolDM Eeyore is a cute little fella. Tigger was always my favorite.Well that and Pooh.

@Tina30219 I've taken yarn there before, but it was just little things I was making. Things that I didn't mind getting pet hair on.

I hope to finish this soonish. I won't be taking it with me to my friends because she has pets and if this even resembles a blanket her cats will lay on it.

I am going to pick up more of this color and let my next project be a sweater or atleast 3/4 inch sleeved blouse.

It reminds me of a yarn that my mother used a lot of. I believe it was from the same brand, but not this exact yarn.

Yep, it's why I'm making two more rows in the middle so it will fit me better.

I finished both pieces just a few minutes ago. Now I just have to stitch them together and add sleeves, maybe even a little bit extra at the bottom of the blouse. I love ombre too.

The blue is gorgeous. I love working with ombre yarn. I made a throw for someone for Christmas using the ombre yarn in purple (her favorite color). Definitely show us your progress as you go! Good luck!

Purple is my favorite color too! I am about six rows from finishing the first panel of this blouse now. I believe that the lighter blues will show up more on the second panel. I am also contemplating whether I want to clean up the edges with black yarn instead of using the same blue. The pattern calls for single crochets around the entire panel to clean it up and make it easier to slip stitch together. What do you think?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I love blue; so I'd stick with the blue. It's your top; so you should do what looks pleasing to YOU! :-)

I thought so too. I have a shawl that I made with darker turquoise like colors. I think I'd like to get that same color and make a blouse out of it too.
