What do you do if your boss decided to fire your colleague?

Yup, that is what my boss told me the day before. He intended to fire one of my colleague due to certain reasons. Asked for my opinion . I know that he wanted my support for his decision. If I am against it, I would be against him instead. What would you do?

I prefer not to choose anyone. Why would you boss require you to back his decision? He is the boss. I would plainly tell my boss that my opinion doesn't matter in this. I'm just a lowly employee.
